I love entering giveaways. I enter them all the time. I was recently excited to win a beauty gift basket. They quoted the retail value at over $200. I was chosen as the winner and announced on twitter. Before even receiving my basket the company DM'd me through twitter asking if I would do a review on my blog for the basket. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
I'm very grateful to have won the basket. I was excitedly telling my friends and family about the great prize I had won. My issue is I won this basket by tweeting faithfully trying to win. If someone else would have won that didn't have a blog, the would not have been able to blog about it. I have a clear set of options available to companies requesting for me to complete reviews and giveaways. I never thought about companies requesting me to do a review on something I entered to win.
My stance, as someone who hosts giveaways, when someone wins something on my blog I would never ask them to review my blog since they won. They've already done what they needed to do to win the prize.
It is a generous basket though and I don't want to be greedy. So I'm asking honestly, would you do the review? If you have an established blog?
