Peanut Allergy - new trial brings new hope

I was on the phone the other day with my Mom in the UK and she told me that there had been a TV program on a couple of days ago about some trials that are due to take place for the peanut allergy. Sam my youngest has the peanut allergy aswell as a few others.

Anyway the trials are going on in Cambridge - they have already completed one smaller trial with great results - I knew about this one. You see I am constantly on the net anyway looking at how the research is going to find a cure for the peanut allergy. The smaller trial had a result of that 20 allergic kids can now eat 5 peanuts a day without a reaction - this is great ! No more panicking when thekids are sent off to school as to whether they will have a reaction and you won't be there and as a family we could actually go out for a meal !

The new trial is on a much larger scale and will last 3 years. If all goes well (crossing everything here) then there will be a cure for the peanut allergy available at the clinic.

Sorry all, but got to go now and sort the kids breaky (deprived children - they haven't got their breakfast and they have been up 10 minutes!) but for more info on this visit my blog post below - Good News - Hooray!
