Thanksgiving is but a date on the calendar,simply a reminder to us to stop and give thanks. It is not just a national holiday to be celebrated for a few hours. It is a time for reflection, for realization that learning to give thanks daily is absolutely life changing. Being thankful should be a natural part of who we are! Thanking God for all He has done in my life, for all that He will do in my life, is something I need to be doing on a daily basis. Being Thankful for my family and friends! Being thankful for the situations that occur daily whether good or bad, that force me to make choices to do what is good and right.
I am thankful for my very life, for the fact that I realize how very precious life is! Learning from past situations I have realized that God has given us such a short time on this earth, and we need to use it for His glory! We do not know how long we have, so we should not be wasting our time here.
I am thankful for a loving and caring, wonderful husband. I am thankful for my children, and the grandchildren that God has blessed us with! I am thankful for finding family that I have spent my life without. I am thankful for renewed relationships and the power of forgiveness. I am thankful for friends near and far! I am thankful for the daily blessings that I sometimes take for granted, like the sunshine, butterflies and yes, the internet!
More than anything I am thankful for the most indescribable gift God has given, His Son, Jesus!
I am going to work much harder everyday at being more thankful for what I enjoy in my life, and, for what I don't! Many of the things I don't enjoy turn out to be very valuable lessons! I know first hand that bad things, or hard things happen, but they always bring about change and growth, and dependence upon Jesus, for those things I am so very, very thankful!
If there is one thing I have learned, it is that no matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will!
