As most of my readers know, my wife is the bees knees. But I can only take care of her while she's at home. Luckily, her Associate Director at work also happens to be the bees knees. And she makes Laura's life a million times better at work. Which then makes MY life a million times better at home.
It really makes a world of difference if your spouse gets along with their co-workers. You will never get along with everyone, but if you are tight with someone on your team it can go a long ways towards your happiness at work and your happiness at home.
Its SuperEllen - The Original ButterBottom Babe! |
When I worked in banking and was working nearly 100 hours a week, I was completely lucky / blessed to be working with a great guy. Michael and I not only got along famously, but were always happy to teach each other some weird trading strategy the other might not understand, and would always cover for the other if something went wrong. We worked 2 feet apart for years and it was not a coincidence that after he left the bank, I was gone six weeks later.
But back to SuperEllen. Ellen has worked with Laura the last three years and can now shoulder much of the load if Laura is travelling or has a family trip to the ER. Laura can trust her to run things when need be and in general just kick ass at the office.
As if that wasn't enough. Ellen and Laura both show a passion for yoga and for meditation. Which is great as Ellen's husband and I both get a little glassy eyed when our spouses talk to us about meditation.
And as for yoga, Ellen is the super awesome model for my yoga pants!
The cherry on top of the ice cream on top of the cake that is SuperEllen? I just found out Ellen is a blogger as well. (Although, Laura did get a little upset that Ellen kept this from her).
So please stop in and say hi to Ellen at:
Happy Ellen = Happy Laura = More nonsensical blogging from me
