Food or titles of dishes are a fun way to teach children new
vocabulary. Introduce a new word as part of the name of what you are
serving the family for dinner and read the definition. It can be a
descriptive adjective, a good-to-know culinary term, or a word from
another language. Or have everyone at the table come up with a new name
or word to describe the dish. (Best choice could be exempt from
cleanup that night!)
