So I said to myself, “Self…you have been sorely neglecting your duties as Mayor of late…”. Myself responded with a rude gesture & a string of expletives that made even me blush. Then I was clocked over the head with a calendar. A sad reminder that September is looming, & with it, the two things I struggle with the most…the loss of my babies back to the school system, & the impending arrival of those cold, dark days of winter. This September heralds a major life change for me as I watch my 4th, & littlest, child head off with her older siblings, leaving me to my own devices for the first time in 13 years, & I find myself increasingly aware of the fleeting hands of time. As such, I have chosen to ditch my responsibilities in favour of embracing these last precious weeks I have left with them…& her…I do hope you’ll forgive me that. Soon enough, I will have too much time on my hands to fill, & once the school files a restraining order against me for lurking the halls, stalking my own children, I am sure I will turn that energy back towards Crazy Town & find my solace in the love & support of all of you!
