Some trends come and go, and some seem to grow or cultivate over time. The one trend I never thought I would embrace is ruffles, but I have to say they make my heart skip a beat these days. Maybe it is the romantic in me or my need to feel really girly sometimes, but I find ruffles (if done correctly) to be a trend that I hope sticks around for a while. Ruffles can range from basic to billowing, and you should always have the philosophy of less is more.
For those smoldering summer days the
Gap Long Ruffle Skirt, $34.50, would be perfect over your bathing suit or with a simple tank top, throw on a pair of flip flops and you have an easy, breezy summer outfit.
For the cooler summertime evenings, the
Ruffled Wrap Cardigan also from the Gap, $49.99, is perfect over a simple dress and has a very feminine ruffle that will make anyone feel a bit girly!
The
Ruffle Front Crochet Trim Tee, $29.50, by Ann Taylor Loft has ruffles that run down the front of the top, the ruffles take a somewhat ordinary tee and make it extraordinary!
Ruffles can even be found for the shoe lover, the
Boutique Nordstrom ‘Tally’ espadrille, $59.95, have grosgrain ribbon detail, a 4 1/4 inch wedged heel and offer an oh so feminine look.
For the handbag lover the
Exhilaration ruffle top tote, $22.99 is available at Target and at that price if the trend fades fast like a bad relationship then at least it wasn't very expensive.
Trends come and go but I hope ruffles stick around like an enduring, loving relationship should! Go on ladies unleash the inner romantic and flirt a bit with some ruffles.
