The Night I (Almost) Broke Up With Prince

After nearly three decades of waiting, I FINALLY got to see the purple prince in concert the other night, but sadly, it left nothing but a bad taste in my mouth.  Hop over to my blog to see why I want to break up with Prince after all these years:  "…

Life Proof Iphone Case

I've had the Lifeproof Iphone case for about six months give or take. I didn't think about writing a review on this blog until today. I didn't think a phone case review belonged on my toddler/mommy blog until I had to deal with a toddler problem.

Jetty Island

Today I headed out to Jetty Island with Isabel to meet up with a mommy play group.  Jetty Island is a long strip of land in the bay off the coast of Everett, WA.  I've heard from a few co-workers that it was a great place to bring your kids but I never made the journey before.  For one, it would have been just Izzy and I and it's not as fun without other kids to join in.  Since The North shore mommy play group planned to met there it was the perfect opportunity to check it…

Potty Time

Potty training isn't easy.  You might be nodding your head or thinking "duh".  Now that my daughter's a semi pro at the potty training business I wanted to share with you what worked the best for us.  I tried two different portable potties and two different toilet seats.  I first tried using a gimmick. My daughter loves everything pink, Dora or princess themed and I thought it would help the process.  Initially, the gimmick worked whether it was from the color or the decorations she…

My Memories and the Eiffel "Cow"er

My Memories and the Eiffel "Cow"er

As we wrapped up our trip to Paris, I found myself longing for some souvenir of my crazy adventure.  I had been fantasizing about finding a quaint little boutique where I could buy some ridiculously expensive French hand lotion made out of rare…

My Memories An Easy, Fun and Super Creative way to share your photographs

I'm not a scrapbook artist, so digital scrap booking software isn't something that I have ever thought about using.  I am however, a creative person and I have been known to pop into a scrap booking shop to look at papers for use in some of my projects and in some of my art works. There are some pretty amazing papers out there that just scream to be used in a hand bound book or to make birthday banners or pinwheels... I am an artist and a crafty kind of gal so the idea of being able to use…

Influenster Holiday VoxBox: Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-On Manicure

Right before bed I decided to try out another product from my InfluensterHoliday Vox Box.  This one is the Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-On Manicure.  First off, it's so rare that I have my nails done and this was a great treat for me.  Every time I've tried to paint my own nails one hand comes out great while my right hand is a huge mess.  I tried press on nails in the past…

Vitabath Review

Hello all! This is my first attempt at a video review so go easy on me. It took 9 tries before I was able to talk without stuttering and yes I'm in my bath robe! It's REALLY cold up here right now. Maybe I'll try to look "cute" for the next one. Hahah... who am I kidding? Let me know what you think?  Continue

Only 40 Calories?

As luck would have it, as a BzzAgent I signed up for a Nature's Own campaign and was chosen to participate. They sent over a coupon to try out a free loaf to see what our family thought about it.   What? Free food and it's something I have to buy for Izzy?!? Umm, yes I'll try it out. One of the breads they offer is a 40 calorie 9-Grain bread made with no artificial preservative, colors or flavors.… Continue

Back to School...maybe I can consistently blog now...

I have to say my husband was right about the camping thing.  Not that I didn't jump on board the camping trailer so to speak, but I was skeptical about our ability to all enjoy a trip in a smaller, less comfortable version of our house in an RV park with state parks as entertainment.  So far we have not been able to go camping as much as we wanted to but I have to say that this last weekend, labor day weekend, 2011...was a raging success.  With all of us.

     My fifteen and…

A Historical Review | The Irish Soldiers of Mexico by Michael Hogan

Why is it that history becomes all that more interesting and fascinating only after the conclusion of our formal schooling years? It is no doubt that History class torments young students and puts others to sleep. Is it because history textbooks are “predominantly histories written by the winners” and therefore this one-sided…
