The Awesome Power of Music

Anyone who doubts the AWESOME power of music may very well change their tune after reading about the incredible thing I witnessed at the hospital where my dad's recovering from a stroke.  Click over to my blog to see what I…

Things I've Learned This Week

I apologize for being MIA on here lately, but unfortunately, my father had a bad stroke and was hospitalized.  It's been pretty horrific to say the least, but I HAVE been keeping a mental list of wacky things I've learned.  Included is the realization that I'm pretty…

What to pack in your labor bag for the hospital

Now that we’re sitting two months out from D-Day, there’s one big thing I’m working on preparing: the labor bag (slash hospital bag). I have a slew of recommended items, but I’m sure there are lots of other suggestions for this important take along bag that ya’ll have, too. So check out what I have and tell me: what am I missing? What did you absolutely NOT need at the hospital? And what did you find to be the most important? I want all of your feedback! Oh, and here’s the…

Hospital Bag Checklist

I'm getting close to meeting the squirmy little worm in my belly - and it makes me nervous. I've accepted the fact I'm going to go through labor and delivery and all the pain associated with it, but that's not what freaks me out because that's just temporary. Life with baby, on the other hand, is permanent.

I've been rushing myself these past few weeks trying to tidy up loose ends around the house (as much as I can alone with this pumpkin of a belly). Organizing shelves and…

Mummy, will you always wee yourself now....

Since beautiful baby has arrived she has managed to achieve quite a lot. She has completely ruined my figure, (clearly it was she who had a craving for pizza not me) she has managed to get me to expose my breasts to the postman, the milkman, and very nearly my father-in-law. She has also managed to reduce me (a cynical, sarcastic almost middle-aged woman) to an over enthusiastic, baby gurgling, obsessed mummy. Seriously if you come within 50 yards of the house I will entice you into the…

Peanut Allergy - new trial brings new hope

I was on the phone the other day with my Mom in the UK and she told me that there had been a TV program on a couple of days ago about some trials that are due to take place for the peanut allergy. Sam my youngest has the peanut allergy aswell as a few others.

Anyway the trials are going on in Cambridge - they have already completed one smaller trial with great results - I knew about this one. You see I am constantly on the net anyway looking at how the research is going to find a… Continue

Vodka Anyone?

I just wanted to fill you in on our eventful afternoon yesterday. My pediatrician told us last year that at six years old, there is finally a test that is performed at the Children’s Hospital that can confirm asthma. Because our six-year-old had what we suspected was “viral induced asthma,” and he never huffed nor wheezed while running or during physical activity, we weren’t so convinced he actually had asthma, per se. So, off we went yesterday afternoon for a test which we were told was a… Continue

Dreams and why do we have them...

Okay now that ,that is out of the way. I want to blog about "Dreams and what do they mean". Everyone has their methods on how to figure them out and all. I also do. I have been a person for years that people come to that I know of course and ask me what did it mean . Well I get really vivid dreams about things. I had one once that was about my mother. That one for some reason ,I couldn't remember for the life of me what it was about. I do know one thing from that is I woke up crying and calling… Continue
