I am probably late to the party on this one but I today had the best cookie ever. And it was totally by chance. I was at lunch today and ordered a turkey melt, or something. I don't even really remember because all I can think about is the cookie. For some silly reason the waiter felt bad that my sandwich didn't come with a side. I ordered it that… Continue

How many things do you let influence you? We see the signs all the time "new" and "limited time". The commericals are always using a variety of words to make you think this is the best of the best. And if you do buy into what they tell you and get that must have item does it influence your way of thinking? I mean if you see a new vacuum and they say it will do this or that which others don't. Buy that wonderful vacuum and go home with it; does it make you feel that you yourself are top of… Continue

Less than two weeks after Sandra Bullock won her first Oscar for Best Actress for her portrayal of a fiery adoptive mother in the movie, ironically titled, “The Blind Side,” Bullock was blindsided by her husband, Jesse James, who the world has now learned had an alleged 11 month relationship with a tattoo model named Michelle “Bombshell” McGee. The tattoo model claimed in a cover story that appeared on the newsstands last Friday in “In Touch” magazine that she had an affair with… Continue

Best Baby Boutiques
Best of LA, May 2009
Just about every kids’ shop in town has a section for infants. But often it’s a few onesies and SPIT HAPPENS bibs among a sea of big boy and big girl clothing. When you’re looking for a gift, whether it’s for your own child or to present at a shower or birthday party, it’s worth checking out a specialty store.

I had quite a long debate with myself about whether or not to post this. At first I thought no, somethings really don't need to be told. But then I thought about it some more and realised that I'd left you hanging there on Friday and told you that I was off on a date at the weekend. I even announced on Twitter that I was also off out on Friday night and that on Saturday I had a stinking hangover but still went off on my date on Saturday night.
I emailed BFF in England today to tell… Continue

Hazy Days of a Busy Weekend
How I have gotten through today I really don't know and my eyes are falling out of my head at the moment so this blog may not make much sense. But all the same here goes.
I sorted out the outfit dilemma and went off to the rugby with a groovy bag packed full of essential items. Braved the embarrassment of having my bag searched entering Croke Park (thank god I didn't have spare underwear in there) and did a… Continue

Together, with the discriminating palate of my 9 month old, Baby K, we put over 25 mass produced, organic, jarred baby foods to the test. All of these were available at our local Target or Meijer, range from stage 1 to stage 3 foods, and include fruits, vegetables, grain blends, meats and dinners.
Aside from the few that made the top three, there were several that were tasteless and bland, and then several that were downright cringe-inducing. Watch for my post on the Worst 3 Jarred… Continue

It's already challenging enough to balance family/work. Imagine to have to squeeze in a coaching commitment, a board meeting, a volunteer activity. Time is our biggest struggle. I can share two best practices: 1) Make priorities, to make sure I rank tasks & meetings in order of priority and impact. 2) Merge the kid's activities with mine, if Peppe would like to play soccer, I coach one of the little league teams at the same time, if I bring the toddlers to a play group, I try to combine it… Continue
