My Endless Feast

I'm a staunch supporter of buying local. I buy organic and try to stop by the local farmers market when I can (not as much as I'd like.) I made all my kiddos' baby food because I wanted to know what was going into their body. I even go so far to… Continue

Mountain Top Faith

You have roamed around this mountain country long enough, turn northward, Deuteronomy 2:3...look

to the heavens and RISE UP! No matter how much you enjoy where you are,

its time to GET-UP ...and MOVE! GET OUT the way...for you have stayed

here, much to long...dealing with the same recurring issues extremely to

long.

Procrastination, yet again prolongs...sings the same old blasted song...over and over… Continue

My Favorite Halloween Costume

Happy Halloween everyone! My husband and I were talking earlier about what our favorite costume was growing up. I didn't even have to think twice...mine was Cruella De Ville. I was an 18 year old college kid and I was *so* mad that I didn't win my school's costume contest. A lot of people didn't even realize it was me underneath that big hairdo! What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid?…

Halloween Can Be a Scary Time

Halloween can be a scary time- not because of ghosts or monsters but because of all the high-calorie, fat-loaded, yummy candy! Halloween candy is some of the worst stuff that you can eat. It is high in saturated fat and the calories can really add up...

Successful Halloween for My Garden Gnome...So Far

What a busy two days for my little garden gnome and it's not even officially Halloween yet! A few weeks ago, I wrote about whether we would even participate in Halloween since Maggie was still young.. but wow I am so glad we did. She's had a such a fun time so far...and she LOVES wearing the garden gnome costume. Actually, she loves it a little too much. Molly was a cute baby for Halloween this year. (aka She didn't dress… Continue

Divorce: A Tale of Horror

I love Halloween. When my kids were younger, one of the thrills of living right off Caledonia Street in Sausalito, California, was that you were at Ground Zero for the town's trick or treat chicanery. The evening would start with a parade of li'l ghosts, goblins and costumes-du-jour, a costume judging contest, and then a promenade through the grid of streets that flank…

Cant pour the wine my hands are shaking...

Having twins I obviously only have to throw one birthday party a year which is a bit of a godsend since they tend to leave me feeling more emotionally and physically knackered than after I did when I ran a marathon.

This year however, twin boy and girl left their lovely nursery school and all their lovely friends scattered out to different primary schools. In a moment of nostalgia and following some rare exceptional behaviour I decided to throw a Halloween party for friends from last… Continue

An Idle Life With Idle Thoughts (Part 1)

As the last weekend in September became a replay of the AFL Grand Final in October, it was hard to imagine that a year earlier, on a big screen in a pub in Kununurra, I watched St Kilda lose the Grand Final. That was my last day before going to Broome, after a week of roughing it out in the Bungle Bungles, digging hip-holes, exploring the chasms and creek beds of the Kimberley, and flying in both a…
