A (blogging) friend of mine did something kind of fun as she got closer to the end of her pregnancy: she started a baby pool for everyone to guess the birth date/time, length, weight and name of her baby. Now that we’re getting closer and closer to meeting our little man, we’ve got a little pool going as well! Whoever guesses the most accurate birth (before he’s actually born) wins an gift card to Amazon, aka my favorite online retailer!...Continue reading at …Continue

It’s been a hectic, crazy week. Which explains why my brain is all over the place today.
1. Ricky has decided that teasing his pregnant wife is his new favorite hobby. The other night he told me that his feet used to be beautiful and now they look like mine. My feet right now = bloated and vein-y, which is a nicer way of saying that they look slightly deformed due to…pregnancy bloat. So I stole a corner of his cookie and crumbled it into his chest hair. Sweet…Continue

As of last Friday, I thought we were good in the whole baby-facing-the-right-direction department. After all, he was head down and progressing pretty dang well if you ask me. Then this weekend I was sure that he dropped: my belly was lower, I could finally breathe and I felt him moving around much lower than ever before.
But it turns out I thought wrong...Continue reading at …Continue

Are you guys as pinterested in Pinterest as I am? Because I’ve become more than mildly obsessed with this website. Something else I’m more than mildly obsessed with? The new line of fall attire at Ann Taylor LOFT. Which you guys already knew from my post about the InStyle event at the LOFT Grand Opening last week. But now I’ve been given a chance to…Continue

Over the last two years, I have seen a lot of young women battle illness – yep, that usual suspect, cancer, hard at work. As I see them struggle with their young families, businesses and work obligations, it always leaves me wondering – how would I cope? Or more to the point – how would my family…Continue

No Labor Day party is complete without games and fun things to keep the kids busy while the adults sit around and talk. Party food is important, but so is fun. Take the time to enjoy the last holiday of the summer with friends and family, and put your outside worries aside for a few hours with these last minute party games.
As a kid we always enjoyed "Simon Says." Both adults and children really can have fun with this. You can have the kids play with the adults, or have their own…

…But he didn’t. He put the ring on my finger and kissed me. It was perfect.
The next two weeks went by in a blur. Between announcing our engagement, everyone wanting to check out “the ring”, a new puppy and life in general, we were a busy couple. When the day of our engagement photos finally arrived, I couldn’t believe that it had already been two weeks since our official engagement!
We had a blast throughout our engagement session! It was snowy out, but that really just…Continue

I don’t know about you guys, but I am literally obsessed with lotions. I think it all started because Minnesota is freezing cold and super dry in the middle of winter – which can easily lead to dry, itchy skin if you’re not careful. Preventing dry skin led to finding my (current) favorite moisturizing products – and I think you guys will love them, too!...Continue reading at …Continue

Although there is a debate as to when the term viral marketing really originated, it did rise in popularity in the mid to late 90’s. Viral marketing works just like a virus. One person reads a marketing message, gets infected by it and passes it on to another person. The better the message, the more it spreads. And the term viral marketing is born!
There are many methods and techniques for spreading your viral marketing message. The explosion of social media…

Last Friday was an interesting day. I was sitting at my desk with absolutely no ability to focus. I literally tried everything to get my mind in gear: I made a list and tried to work off of that. I tried to start with small tasks. I took the dog for a walk to clear my head. Nothing worked. All morning, I was having random Braxton Hicks contractions – not anything abnormal, but definitely odd for me to have them for such a long period of time.
Finally around noon, the…Continue

My hubby thinks he’s really funny. His favorite things to do these days (to his eight month pregnant wife) is to turn all of my own pregnancy symptoms around – and pretend that he has them. Because he’s obviously pregnant too. Or come up with ways that the bean is going to torture me by the time he’s three or four years old. Or, you know, just tease me in general. His five best from the weekend:
1. “You have to be nice to me. I have the pregnant waddles!” The baby…Continue

She is one of the most amazing people I know. Probably one of the most I will ever meet in my life. She is my daughter… my six-year-old daughter. She epitomizes the term “true beauty.” Below are some reasons… from a mother to her daughter.

So we’ve decided on some of our maternity photos! All of the ones you guys loved, we’re getting printed. But then I saw one that we missed, and realized that it absolutely HAS to be the big photo. I don’t know why I’m so in lurve with it – it’s super cheesy. We just look so…happy – and that’s definitely something that I want the bean to feel: that…Continue

Your child is already excited they can get together with their friends outside of school, so why not involve them in the planning for a playdate?
First of all, you have to invite the friends. Since sometimes getting in contact with the parent is difficult, the best way is to either make up a homemade invitation or a playdate card (like the one here from Gwynne Wasson Designs) the child can take home. Make sure to include your name and contact phone number and email address…Continue

This morning I was doing some research for my day job. Somehow, I ended up on Etsy. And somehow after that, I ended up utterly obsessed with infant Halloween costumes on Etsy. I know, I know – shiny objects and all. I’m easily distracted at times. Anyway, since Halloween is right around the corner…okay, two months away…and I will have a small babe by that time, I decided that it was high time to start making a list of my absolute favorite baby bean Halloween costumes. And then I got…Continue
