I'm sure every mama out there thinks about their child's grey matter. No, I'm not talking about some weird diaper of poop. I'm talking about their noggin. I'm sure you will agree that we want our children to do well in school. If your child isn't old enough you are probably wondering what we can do at home to prepare them for school.

By the time I had my sixth kid, I figured I had this parenting thing wrapped up.
Well, this cheeky toddler has knocked me square off my parenting high horse. One of our babysitters describes him as an adorable weirdo. One of his weirdo things is that every night for the last six months, he has insisted upon falling asleep on the family room floor. I later transport him to a suitable…

Recently, I blogged about the top questions teens want to have answered about puberty, periods and products using questions the beinggirl.com women’s health experts answer most frequently. In this post, I will provide insight into what teen girls ask the beinggirl.com women's health experts about in regards to relationships with girlfriends and boyfriends. Forgiveness..one word that carries so much weight. Forgiveness..one thing that's hard to give but always expected. Forgiveness...one thing that keeps us stuck or propels us forward.

It's a dirty job, but, unfortunately, somebody's gotta do it. And this weekend? Well, I was the one who got stuck being the bad cop. Cause short people lying straight to my face is just not something that I take too lightly.
It all went down on Sunday, which was an unfortunate flurry of activity around here with the kids coming off the high…

As I have confessed here a number of times, I haven’t always been able to write. Well, I’ve always been able to write, I just didn’t have any confidence in my writing abilities. When I was working in the corporate world, if I was required to write a letter, I would procrastinate for days until I made myself sit down at my computer and write.

I've been writing about my adventures in weaning my almost two year old daughter from da Boob. It's her most favorite thing ever! She gets so excited when I whip that sucker out. She loves it so much that she will volunteer "more boo boo peess mama" (translation - more boob please mama) without any coaching from me. I started the process of weaning her about two weeks ago starting with the middle of the night feedings. Things were going pretty good. By the end of that first week I could say…

Have you ever thought that God would like to use your life story to bring hope into another woman’s life? That your friendship could actually be life giving to another person? You might be thinking about how busy you are. How can you possibly squeeze one more person or activity into your life? Between work and family your time is spent! Who has time for making new friends or even maintaining friendships?
It is true that our lives are very busy, but the one thing we need as…

I'd like to think I have a handle on my kids. Sure, there are the occasional outbursts in public, sometimes so unbelievable that I pretend I'm the nanny, but for the more manageable ones I'm not opposed to public time outs and major ultimatums. ("If you don't knock it off I'm going to throw all of your toys away when we get home.")
But I'd say that more times than not, I'm in control. And yesterday during the first part of…

No doubt that many moms & dads, along with their daughters, have or had questions about puberty, periods and the menstrual protection products that would be best for them to use. One thing that I have learned over the years is that the questions that teens have can be different from the concerns or issues that their parents think they have. Sometimes when parents talk to their daughters and think they have addressed their questions, they haven't. Sorry about that reality, since many…

I recently came upon the story of Janice Dean, a meteorologist for the FOXNews channel and mother of two young boys. Janice’s story of working motherhood was particularly interesting to me, as she has Multiple Sclerosis (MS), a chronic disease that attacks the central nervous system, which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. My blog, the PRIMARY DILEMMA, is about diversity among working mothers and the challenges that they face.
Janice’s story of managing…

Every decision you make at every moment of every day, adds up to your future success………or failure!
So many of us today want a quick fix. Let’s use weight loss for an example.
What kind of choices are we making for our future when we chose to fill ourselves with garbage? You likely aren’t going to feel any less healthy tomorrow for the poor food choices that you are making today. Unless you are really in tune with your body, which most of us are not.
You also aren’t…
