Self-esteem is the feelings we have about ourselves.
Self-image is the picture we have of ourselves in our mind.
Self-concept is what we think about ourselves.
The way to improve our success in life is to improve our thoughts, image and feelings. As adults, we have the power to affect those children’s self-esteem, self-image and self-concept.

I am a young girl, playing on the sidewalk that forms a white border around the yellow stone house of my childhood. And in the summer breeze, alone except for the whistle of the wind in the trees and the distant cries of other children playing in the hot, bright sun, I step into the grooves and cracks in the pavement, slipping my jelly shoe feet into the parts in between. Kids heading back to school? Mine have been back for three weeks now and aside from daily homework woes, my biggest challenge is coming up with healthy, yummy lunches for them to take to school each day. Everybody knows they want to live a healthy, happy, stress free life with peace of mind. Everybody knows they want financial freedom. The irony is most people are unwilling to do the work to create the health, happiness, stress free life with peace of mind that they claim they desire.
When I got my second call from Brevitt’s teacher, in a three day span, I hung up the phone and had to think for a few moments. Almost ten, Brevitt is becoming a calmer and less anxious boy and is learning how to respect authority. So why was he getting into trouble? Not sure who she is, but she sounds like me, and her concepts are oddly familiar, and rather intriguing. Looks to me like she put on eyeshadow and earrings to channel her inner "Heeeyyyyy!", and dared to venture into the scary world of video blogging. I think I like…Continue
I have always been an introvert. It has never been easy for me to put myself out there. To meet new people. To speak up. To have attention on me. (I don't even like when every sings "Happy Birthday" and that is family!)
In the years since my first marriage and having my son things have gotten worse. I have full out anxiety. I don't have anxiety attacks per se (I save those for times I don't know where my son is!) but my IBS will flare up, my stomach will hurt, and I'll have to run… Continue

Before I get into the nitty gritty about why I am so over Uggs, let me just start by saying that I have a love/hate relationship with the soft, smooth, furry boots known as Uggs. I will not sit here and act like I do not have a pair (or two) in my closet, nor will I sit here and act like I don't absolutely LOVE wearing what I refer to as the "most comfortable shoe on the planet. PERIOD." With that being said, I have started… Continue
