Canadian, Eh! Friday Funny Blog Hop!

Shut up, I know it’s not Friday yet, whaddya take me for?! But it IS a long weekend for most North Americans, & even though I’d like to say I did this solely for The Empress ’cause I’m just that frikkin’ giving, (bite me), that’s not the case. My mother recently shared this video with me,…

Moms, want to write but need an MHP?

What’s an MHP? Glad you asked—stands for “Mother Hug-Push,” what we all sometimes need. Helps us grab our Muse by her salon-highlighted tresses and force her to sit with us until we finish the darn story, book, or blog post. Okay, a bit too much coffee in those words, but you get the idea.

Procrastination, writer’s block, whatever you want to call it, most writers feel the frustration at some point or other. So what do you do when you’re stuck? Reach out and connect...right here on… Continue

Lost! Lost! I'm Telling You It Is Lost!

I think that I may have truly lost my mind. No, really. I can't keep up with my thoughts. It seems to be happening to me more and more that if I don't write down what I was doing or going to do, I forget it altogether. I'll walk into a room and stop in astonishment that in a split second I have forgotten why I walk in there. Or like the other day I went to the grocery store, not having biscuits on my list but knowing that I was in need of them. I went straight to the store list in hand. But…

A Moment in Time

Our household is anything but peaceful at this moment. Madeline, my 2 year old, is at a heightened stage of separation anxiety. Meaning Mommy

can't be out of sight and if I am the screams that occur are ear

piercing and not short for that matter. Hearing her choking from crying

so hard is heartbreaking and unbearable to ignore. The two days I have

committed to client sessions and working on the growth of my practice

look something like this; tip toeing by her after… Continue

A Letter to My 20-Something Self

I discovered a new blog this weekend called CassieBoorn.com. What really grabbed me was the "20-Something Self Letters" category, which includes letters written by women to their younger twenty-something selves. The letters are filled with wisdom and advice only women in the advanced ages of thirty or forty can dispense. Cassie also has another category labeled "56 Things To Do Before I’m 25" where she lists "Buy a pair of Uggs" as her #22 thing to do, but we won't hold that against…

Oh my, Hump Day

Today started off so well but chaos has begun breaking out and it's not

yet noon! My daughter is bouncing off the walls at an alarming rate and

she managed to knock over a bowl of chips, not once, but twice in a

matter of 5 minutes. When she knocked it over the first time, I had to

get out the broom and dustpan (the vacuum is broken) and put in a

little good old fashioned elbow grease to try and get all of the little

pieces off of the rug and into the bowl I was… Continue

Put Yourself On Your To Do List

by Sarah Welch and Alicia Rockmore

Some people sneak a peek at medicine cabinets, others might want to look inside your purse. We like to sneak peeks at To Do lists. We’re willing to bet that if we took a look at yours, it would look something like this:

Finish monthly sales report

Grocery shopping

Soccer practice car pool

Pick up dry cleaning

Take Mom to doctor’s appointment

Look at each task. There is…

How to communicate with your children

Being a mother of three beautiful children is my biggest accomplisment, but trying to be a part of them while growing up is a huge challange. Just a few month ago, as I was reading John's facebook (my oldest of the 3)who is going to be 13 this August, I noticed some postings about his status. Some of them said, "I hate my life", "No body likes me". At that moment, lots of things came to my head, I was wondering, is it something I'm doing wrong or did I say something to cause my child to feel…
