A great organization that is helping save children from malnutrition in Africa. Project Peanut Butter uses a ready to use food formula of ground, roasted peanuts, powdered milk, vitamin and mineral mix, vegetable oil and sugar. All ingredients are sourced locally except for the vitamins and minerals. $15 feeds one child for the duration of the treatment, 6 - 8 weeks.

My very independent little boy (recently turned two) just went on the potty chair for the first time ever today! As you can imagine this was a very exciting moment in our house. And it wasn't just tinkle, oh no, it was #2!!! He's been hiding for privacy for weeks as he does his business in his diaper. Today I decided that when this happens his options should be to go on the potty chair or risk the floor but the diaper should come off. Not sure if I'm going about this the right way, not sure if…

'Baby Potty Training', 'Elimination Communication', or simply 'EC' are terms used to describe an ancient way of caring for your baby's hygiene needs. In our modern society, we can combine Baby Pottying with modern cloth diapers for best effect, as it helps your baby retain awareness of when they eliminate, and reduces risk of diaper rash.
So, how do you boost your confidence in having your baby diaper-free more often so that you can significantly reduce their risk of diaper rash?…

Immediately after my first child was born I developed a little ritual. My husband would walk in the door at 5:34PM and I would cheerfully hand him our son and say "I need to get out of here". I would then drive up and down my favorite Kansas City streets for about an hour in search of one thing: Checking out beautiful entrances to homes.
I appreciate all the thought and inspiration that go into a beautiful entrance. I wanted to see…

By now you have probably read about how powerful social media has been in connecting people in Iran protesting the recent election results. It is absolutely incredible to watch how these tools have changed the way the world operates in the face of an event like those that are happening in Iran.
Twitter
Twitter has been a powerful means to connect people to the cause in Iran. Notice the green photos of your friends on Twitter? That's in support of the protesters who…

I believe in encouraging our children rounds them out to be better kids, not only that it teaches them responsibilties, and about rules. To many children when they have nothing to do tend to find trouble and end up with the wrong type of people. In sports you learn communication. The things you learn in sports you can use when were adults.Sports are compative but we as adults are competive, that can be a good thing,Children learn to have long lasting relastionships with the friends they make.We as…

I learned that Michael Jackson, the legendary international 80's pop icon, died of a heart attack amidst my son's birthday party. As the kids caught wind of the news they simply took a brief pause before proceeding to scarf down their pizza. They don't "know" Michael the way we "know" Michael. Despite his crazy antics and baby balcony wielding ways, his music will be a constant reminder of my carefree youth listening to "Beat It" and other classic 45's on my turntable (my son wouldn't recognize…

Healthy Birthday Snack Ideas:
A child’s school birthday celebration should be centered around the child; instead, it has become centered around cupcakes. Parents bring in these unhealthy treats and kids rejoice. Yet with the current child obesity crisis, many are rethinking this caloric tradition. In response, I have created this list of healthy birthday school celebrations. Enjoy them! And please, let me know if you have any additional suggestions.

I met a gorgeous gal named Sarah Jones who is founder and designer for Status Design Studio. We met at our fabulous Uptown Dallas Netweavers luncheon, where she showed off her latest, cutest design. A reversible tunic and leggings outfit. She even changed the look of the entire outfit right before our eyes. Took about 2-seconds to turn this outfit into a calf length, slinky dress. Adorable! She sells her clothes at various boutiques in Dallas, including Betty Cupcake and at the Four Seasons.…

You might know that we recently sold our house and bought a new one in record time. Sure, we did some things right: purging our home of clutter, staging it and even getting creative by attempting to sell it on Twitter (which got us
on local TV, a real hoot!). Many other things just fell into place, seemingly like magic: we found our (gorgeously restored, 100-year-old) dream house quickly, the sellers were motivated and ready to deal, and…

WhenI came across this beer, I was floored. I don't even like beer, but I can see myself with this one!
Ramm ND developed these beer cans, which are interesting enough on their own. But the real charm is when the can is combined with another identical can - they develop the illusion of a pair of panties, a garter belt, and patterned fishnet stockings! The only problem is…once you drink a beer, the image is lost! Can you imagine! LOL I don’t know if, or where, these are available for…

My friend called me with the name of a man who prescribed estrogen patches and I called him immediately to set up an appointment and investigate. Could it be that there was a cure for my Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde monthly syndrome? I had been searching long and hard for something…anything, that I could take to keep me sane and normal through that one week of hell every month.
His office was located directly next to my yoga studio and so I stopped by after my class. I walked in soaked…
