Fruit and Vegetable Cleaner
Did you know that grapes and bell peppers have more pesticide residue on them than any other fruit or vegetable? To reduce this, stores such as Trader Joe's and Whole Foods sell a special wash to clean them. The cost of a 16 oz bottle of cleaner will run you about $3.99. You can make your own at home for pennies on the dollar. Combine 4 tablespoons of white vinegar with 1 gallon of water and rinse the produce. Rinse with plain water afterwards. Now I know there…

I am being tested.
My first born is in the air somewhere on her way to Kenya to volunteer in an orphanage for a month.
We had a great cookout the night before she was heading to her Grandparents in Chicago to fly out and we had a really enjoyable time.
The next morning I woke up sick. Strep from one of our younger ones. I called Rachel in Chicago and offered to try and get her a prescription that would…

We opened the pool last weekend and had several fun first.
The first person in the pool
The first can of beer cracked open of the season.
The first person to show up on crutches.
The first cannonball.
The last person out of the pool
etc...
You get the idea. Reasons to celebrate are plentiful. I hope your summer is looking bright and sunshiny too.

When it comes to the "side effects" of motherhood, most moms I know agree on one thing: your social life takes a serious hit. Whether your life before kids had you clubbing 'til the wee hours (or just knowing you could if you wanted to), this Mommy Truth seems inevitable for most of us.
So, as your family grows, it makes sense to do more in-home entertaining. No sitters to pay, right? We've all done the barbecues and pizza nights... but have you ever tried a "…

Friends, every time I shop at Aldi I question myself why I don’t shop there more often. Their prices are consistently low on many items. If you have never stopped in to Aldi here are a few reasons why you should. They have over 850 stores in 27 states. Their inventory is mainly private label brands that are carried only in Aldi Stores. Occasionally you will find national brands which are "special purchases". Aldi partners with the same suppliers that produce the national brands. To show you how…

Oh my gosh they are never ending!! Weeds, weeds weeds... I am so tired of pulling weeds. They are everywhere. Oh well my garden is growing great and it is just another part of gardening I guess. My hubby has a job interview on Monday I am really hoping that it turns out good. He will have to live in Phoenix during the week and that will be really hard for us, but it is too far away for him to commute on a daily basis. The way jobs are so scarce these days he has to take whatever he can get. I…

A simple but often overlooked way to help your skin stay clear in the summer heat is to clean your sunglasses! By wiping down your frames once a week (or more), you'll be removing the dirt, sweat and makeup that can cause breakouts around your eye area!

We have a very silly Christmas family Tradition (Invented by 'moi' ). When we get together as a family we join hands and dance around singing a slightly modified version of 'The sun has got its hat on'
'The sun has got its hat on
Hip, hip, hip hooray
The sun has got its hat on cause it's nearly Christmas Day!
Of course it is highly unlikely that the sun will in fact be wearing a hat literally or metephorically. It probably won't show its…
