Hey office supply stores....where are you hiding the school supplies?

Disorganized kids go through school supplies very quickly. Organized kids usually need to replenish some of their supplies as the year continues. Late summer school supplies displays are awesome; students want for nothing. Hey, office supply stores, what about the rest of the year?

I find it incredibly presumptuous for these stores not to keep the school supplies in abundance throughout the year. It's frustrating to tell parents and students to go to the office supply store and pick… Continue

When your disorganized child doesn't give a .....

Many parents will tell me that their disorganized child doesn't give a ......hoot...about getting organized. I'm not so sure about that. Who wants to lose their homework, forget where they placed their keys, and get in trouble for being disorganized? I tell moms that their children aren't lazy but are beaten down by the consequences of being disorganized. Maybe the reason why these kids are still disorganized is because no one has ever identified the child as having a certain organizing style.… Continue

Listen to your Child

Like many mothers, there have been many times when I haven’t listened to my kids. The whining, crying, pulling, and grabbing would result in my zoning out and wishing for the Calgon moment.

My daughter used to have a small bedroom crowded with American Girl Dolls and their accessories ( I should’ve taken stock in that store), 3 doll carriages, 2 doll cribs, and an abundant of toys. Never mind the clothes, shoes, chachky items from McDonalds. You get the picture. Since I could never… Continue

Hi! Sounds like an interesting book! I tell my kids all the time how my mom demanded family dinner time and thus it has carried over to my family. No matter how busy we are, we always manage to have family dinner time. Quite amazing considering all of our schedules. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
