Lady, Get A Job

The Barnacle started preschool this week and I didn’t even have to pry her off me. She put her lunchbox in her cubby, sat down in circle time and kissed me goodbye. Apparently, I need to find her a new nickname.Wanna know what else I need to find? A job. Yes, my days of starting up are, apparently, over. There’s only so much…See More

I blog at and launched in July 2008 with daily updates on eco-friendly fashion, beauty, lifestyle and parenting designed to "stiletto-size" your life. I've also appeared on “Access Hollywood,” “Hollywood Green” and “Good Day L.A.” and I regularly write and speak about reducing your carbon footprint from an Ugg boot to a Manolo. But the most fun might be the eco-swag giveaways that I get to organize: This year, we're giving away $250 in free eco-swag each week and $250 in sustainable shoes each month.

Breast Cancer From A Bottle—For Pre-Teen Girls

Remember all those John Hughes movies filled with drama and teenage angst? That’s my daughter, about four days out of the month. Sobbing frenzies predicated by a far-flung brush and “I hate my hair!” A room full of clothes and nothing to wear. Crying jags over misunderstandings.

She’s nine.

A new study has me wondering if this monthly moodiness has something to do with PMS. An August, Pediatrics published a study that found one in… Continue

Think Eco-Beauty's Expensive? Not If It's Free!

You don't need to make a special supermarket trip to find eco-friendly beauty.

Go to the kitchen and grab sugar, eggs, honey and instant oatmeal. Go on, I’ll wait!

I love scrubs but don’t like that most of them contain oil. So I created this Essential DIY Scrub & Mask that I’m totally addicted to. You can even use it every day—okay I’m a little obsessive—and seriously your skin will never look better. When I use it regularly my blackheads disappear,…

EcoBeauty 101: What’s In Your Makeup Bag?

I may be Mommy Greenest, but it’s not like I’m some crazy Birkenstock wearing woman who uses The Rock on her underarms. I like lipstick as much as the next girl; I just like to know mine’s lead-free. Think I’m kidding? Studies have shown that two-thirds of lipsticks contain lead, which is a neurotoxin. And most women eat about nine pounds of the stuff over their lifetimes. Ick.

As we all know from high school health class, your skin is your biggest organ. It absorbs everything you put… Continue

Hi, My Name Is Rachel And I’m An Addict.

by Rachel Lincoln Sarnoff,

No, this isn’t going to be one of those sordid tell-all posts that ping-pong across the blogsphere. I’m not confessing anything here that my friends and family don’t already know. They’ve seen the signs: The heightened anxiety, the snappishness, the darting eyes examining passing street corners when we’re out and about in unfamiliar territory. Every… Continue

Really enjoyed your last few posts about religion and being the cloudy cup. Wanted to share some of my work with you in return.

My new music video for my lullaby Child of Sunshine is finished! Would love to know what you think.

You can see it at:
If you enjoy it, please share it with as many people as you can.

All downloads from now through the end of 2009 will be donated to the Children's Miracle Network as they helped us so much when our son was born 6 weeks early.

Hope you are well,
Amy Robbins-Wilson

Glad to see you on Twitter Moms! Sounds like you're a busy mom! My children are both in college now (Stanford Medical School and Claremont McKenna College) and I'm reaching out to share some tips that worked for me when I was raising little ones.

I set up a preschool for my daughters that set them up to be top of their kindergarten classes (and all the way through school). By inviting a few other students to join the program (for a fee), all of my expenses were covered so I had the best preschool for free! Besides enjoying the ability to set up the perfect program, one that I developed specifically for my daughters, I also received prepared dinners, a clean house, and folded laundry at the end of the day! All for free.

I've written a book to show other super moms how to set this up for their families. It's called "The Working Mother's Guide to FREE Child Care in Your Home!" I also offer consultation to help you get started and to be there when you need support, guidance, or just a friend to talk to!

Whether you're a stay-at-home or a working mom, this program gives you the freedom to have your cake and eat it too! I enjoyed being a mom, working in a career I love, and watching my girls blossom with a program that I set up just for them. They now tell me that it was the best gift I could have given them!
