Save Million Trees organization was founded in 2010 by 6 moms - some working, some stay-at-home moms, but all with the same, green lifestyle and ambition to raise our children to be responsible and eco-conscious.

One day, we got together and started thinking what we, as regular, everyday moms can do to make a bigger impact in what kind of world we leave our children.

We were all sick and tired of receiving tons of junk mail every week - what a waste of our time and trees! We started doing research on what the real impact of junk mail in this society is.

We found out that an average person receives 41 lb of junk mail every year, and wastes 70 hours/year in sorting and disposing of it.

In 2005 (the most recent research we were able to find) 100 million trees were cut to produce junk mail!

More than 40% of all trees harvested in the United States are used to make pulp to produce junk mail.

As if that wasn't enough, we found out that junk mail producers and transporters together create more greenhouse gas emissions than 9 million cars! When we researched where it goes, we found out that 44% of the solid mass in our landfills is either paper or carton. How about this for our children to inherit?

So, we founded Save Million Trees Organization. It's a non-profit organization with one goal: To help Americans to reduce the amount of waste they cause - whether it is by producing it, or by continuing to receive it.

As long as there are people who, without thinking, continue receiving and throwing it away, so long there will be companies that, without any regard to the waste and pollution, keep sending it.

We did more research, found out which companies either send the most junk mail, or are in the business of selling our personal information to direct marketers. We found out their addresses. By law, when we notify them and ask them in writing to remove us from their listing, they will have to.

That is what our No Junk Mail package is - pre-printed letters to all of the main junk mailers! Everyone can get their own package, either for a small donation to support our organization, or for free! Sending these out will reduce the junk mail you receive by 90%! 

A family of 4 will go from over 100 lb of junk mail to 10 lb. Just like that. And at the same time, the more people make the right choice, the more trees will be saved - and the less junk mail will be created, and less greenhouse gas emissions will be created....... Six mothers started a wave of eco-conscious people finally having a choice. Now there are thousands of us, but more are needed. Can you give up your junk mail? Can you do it today? For our children?
