Ann Duncan said… - Yes, I hear you. And I suspect that there is a way that would prove energizing, as opposed to draining. Actually gradually (very gradually) moving that direction. My goal is to live in a boundless energy.
Good for you! Down-sizing "stuff" would be wise for many, I think. Have you seen any of the Simple Abundance books? I've made a bit of progress on that, but seems infinitesimal when compared with where I want to be with it.
I've given my daughter responsibility for her own space as well as for her own education, etc. Each of my children had to take care of their own laundry from about age 9 or 10 and such. I am VERY glad to hear of your choice to not try to make your daughters what you think they should be! I didn't understand that when my first four were young. Am so grateful to have "gotten" it in time for my youngest to benefit. And I agree about the closed bedroom doors being more bearable, ha!
