Practice Mommy Meditations to Make the Most of Precious "Mom-Me" Time

Times are tough for everyone, but nothing trumps the physical and emotional toll of late-night fusses and feedings, sleep deprivation, frequent diaper changes and that seemingly ever-present belly flab. It's safe to say moms have one of the most stressful jobs in the world, and although it offers some of the best benefits, vacation days aren't typically one of them.

Important "mom-me" time only requires a few minutes a day, BUT you have to choose to fit it in. Although we seem to… Continue

Acknowledge All That You Do

How many times do you lay your head on the pillow only to beat yourself up about all the things you didn't get done or stress out on all the things you have to do?

Mama, give yourself a break! Have you ever thought of all that you accomplish in a day?

As a mom, you are a cook, a baby feeder, a diaper changer, a playmate, a driver, a banker, a nurse, a friend, a wife, a housekeeper, a launderer, a shopper and the list goes on.

While we don't often see the fruits… Continue

Get Uncomfortable

Progress cannot happen when you are comfortable. This is true for every single part of your life. If you want to move forward, you need to push just a little harder, try a little more. If you go to the gym and don’t fatigue your muscles, they will not gain strength. If you go to work and simply punch a time clock, you will not move ahead. So ask yourself, what part of your life do you want progress?

Your fitness level - Add a rep or go the extra mile, take an extra Stroller Strides… Continue

A Fresh Slate

Believe it or not, I love New Year’s Resolutions. I think it’s a great time to reflect on your life; what you want to change, improve and leave behind. However, most of us create resolutions that do not come to pass. They are too hard, too fast and not meaningful enough to make happen. We make promises of too many things. Yes, you might want to lose 5 pounds. But probably not bad enough to take it off and keep it off any more than you were last year. So, if you really want your resolutions to… Continue

Get In Front Of It

Yesterday I walked in to the office to find my National Fitness Director, Farel Hruska working at a time that she’s not usually here. “Behind?” I asked her. Nope, just “getting in front of it”. We all need to work on getting in front of it. I don’t know about you, but being behind is one of my biggest stress causers. I am constantly feeling behind - In work, around the house, with my kids, you name it. Come on moms, don’t you feel like you are always rushing your kids out the door, only to find… Continue

I see we share the common perspective of how important it is to balance motherhood with other factors in our lives. While you focus on inner-peace and holistic living, I concentrate on maintaining healthy relationships with our spouses. We both arrive at the same goal of happy living and being better role models for our kids. Keep up the good work!

Great to have you here! We've got an incredible group of women connecting on all sorts of topics, so kick back and make yourself at home. Check out the Twittermoms groups (we have something for everybody). The Twittermoms discussions are quite entertaining, too. Or, just get to know your fellow Twittermoms by browsing some Twittermoms profiles or searching for moms who share your interests, add friends, and start twittering with some incredibly smart and interesting moms.

PS: Let your friends know when you're on twittermoms with a click of the Announce Yourself link in your welcome box. If your Twitter friends are interested, they can check out the cool new place you've found!

Again -- if there is anything I can do for you, please let me know.
