- A little about yourself...
- I’m an instructional technologist for K-12 education and have been in education for almost 13 years. I’ve always had an interest in teaching others, or more so, helping others explore the world! First and foremost, I’m a wife and mother of two lovely girls (with 1 boy on the way!). We have a little jack russell terrier who was my only “little boy”! My family can be found outside at the beach during the warm months and living off our musical instruments and computers during the cold months. I prefer the warm months!
What is this blog? It’s my bliss list. My 100 by 100 list…my things to do before I go. It’s my journal. My constant attempt to appreciate my purpose, my life’s meaning, etc. The initial intent when I started this blog was to write about technology and motherhood. However, as my interest as a blogger has evolved, I’ve noticed this as an opportunity to chronicle my personality for my kids. As a mother, my kids often see me as the parent primarily interested in doing laundry, cooking, managing everyone’s schedules…bleh! I want to keep a journal for my kids that their mom has a life as well. I’ve spoken to too many moms out there who wonder why everyone is convinced that once you become a mom, you don’t have any other interests other than taking care of the family. I’m hoping to document for my kids that their mommy experienced some adventures of her own. Some small, hopefully some big in the future. This balancing act is insane-trying to maintain the wife/mother role at the same time of still enjoying life as an individual. And most importantly, maybe they’ll strive to embrace life in the same way as they become adults.
So if you have any suggestions for something I should add to my Bliss List…Holla’!

ovarian cysts stink!
so it has been 2 cycles since i last wrote, but i've had a snag in my journey to get my parts working enough to regain my fertility. my first cycle of femara failed. my second showed 1 large follicle that was already at 24, no trigger shot, and no success. my third cycle was a bust with the discovery of two large cysts on my left ovary...both around 4 cm each...that's about 8 cm diameter taking up space IN my ovary! blah! i just did an ultrasound on my CD2 as recommended to find that one of…

Aim, trigger, fire!
My time with femara ended and I had my ultrasound. They saw 1 good follicle already matured and 2 more that were almost matured. So that means a possiblity of 3 good eggs (if we are in a 100% fail proof environment!). The RE gave me a prescription for the Ovidrel trigger shot to be taken a few days later. I also have to take progesterone throughout the 2ww. and yes...they are suppositories...oh joy! I did ask the RE that with 3 mature follicles at the trigger shot period, what were the…

so it is PCOS
After several months, and my husband getting a new job which changed our health benefits, I went to see the RE. With our new insurance, the fertility visits are covered as long as I have a referral from my PCP. I was eager to see the RE because this past month I have not stopped my period. It has basically lasted a month straight. The RE reviewed my blood work and concluded that I do have PCOS. My LH level is about 3 times as much as my FSH. She said it should be in a 1:1 ratio. now what?
oh what to do! where did i leave off? oh yes, the ultrasound went fine and then my gyn referred me to a Reproductive Endocrinologist. When I called the practice to make an appointment, they immediately gave me a disclaimer that all of the services were not going to be covered by my insurance. The initial consultation appt was $190. PCOS?
I got the call from the doctor today with my bloodwork and ultrasound results. As the technician had said, my ultrasound looked perfectly normal and there wasn't anything wrong at all. My bloodwork looked normal with the exception of my DHEA-S levels. They were elevated. So the doc suggested I see a endocrinologist to get everything in balance. I googled DHEA-S and found that elevated levels mean that I am increasing more male hormone than female hormone...which may lead to anovulation. I also… Continue
