A little about yourself...
My name is Edie McRae.

I am the founder and owner of EdieMcRae.com We specialize in conversational marketing and social media aka Web 2.0 for the small business owner.

My passion is empowering other small businesses to build their brand and increase their online visibility through hands-on experience with blogging and use of popular social networks for business objectives. I work with individuals face to face as well as virtually to ensure that one is always comfortable practicing their new found skills.

I'm fun, energetic and always have a can do attitude! As a former nurse turned work-from-home-mom, I have unique experience gained through tapping into social media networks specific to women and mothers in order to build a large direct sales business without prior experience.

I've been fortunate to understand the need for multiple streams of income and feel so blessed to be mentored by 6 and 7 figure income earners as I take this journey! How many people can say that they LOVE what they do???

We're SURVIVORS of Hurricane Katrina who've made a new start from scratch (literally) in Texas.

Never seen pics from those who LIVED through it??? Take a look at ours: http://www.picturetrail.com/mcraefamily1

This was a REALITY check for us all.

I'm passionate about helping families become healthier, happier and wealthier too! I am able to make a difference in the world--and you can too.

I'd love to meet, share ideas and get to know you all better.

Edie--Mom of 2, CEO of EdieMcRae.com

The BEST EVER Internet Marketing Book for Moms!

I had the privilege of completing a 10 week internship with Kelly McCausey the guru of the Moms Talk Network. Although I've been blogging for years, I took this opportunity b/c of a Tweet Kelly made calling for interns. Her proposal? Give me 10 weeks and I'll give you the BEST blogging education of your life! And she SO delivered on that promise.

Things are going to get even BETTER here at my blog largely because of Kelly's expertise.

In my former life, when I was heavily… Continue

Charm School for Networking Organizations

Here's the story...

A few weeks back, I attended an evening mixer for a well known national business organization who shall remain nameless. (Why shall they remain nameless? Because they don't deserve any press from me--or you for that matter.) It's the PRINCIPLE violated that I want to cover that really matters. But I digress...

At the mixer, there was a person whose sole function for the organization is to meet and greet both new AND prospective members. Considering that… Continue

Showing Up Differently...

For the first time in a long time, I've been at a loss for words. Yesterday, I attended an event for the Greater Houston eWomen Network.

Hearing the founder Sandra Yancey share her story and her vision for the GLOW project, with us was moving to say the least. It is often difficult to… Continue

WAHM's work too!

So it's MLK day and there's no school. I knew ahead of time that today wouldn't be the most productive day. I decided to throw caution into the wind, go with the flow, fly by the seat of my pants and allow my boys (ages 5 & 7) to invite into my freshly cleaned house two of their neighborhood friends to play the Wii.

The first two hours weren't bad. I finished some laundry and got a start on clearing some clutter here in my home office. THEN the doorbell rings. It's another friend… Continue

Embarrassing Moment--good laugh at my expense!

So let's start by giving you some background...I'm ENDOWED, to put it nicely. A blessing AND a curse! As I approach my mid 30's, I've noticed that the "girls" like to travel south a bit. The answer--a custom bra fitting! Yes--one of those places where "professionals" ask you to undress completely from the waist up so they can CONFIRM your worst nightmare--sagging breasts, overflowing side boob and the all too popular "back butt".

So, a member of my local women in business chapter… Continue
