I am from a family of collectors and crafters.I was born and raised in Bowie, Texas, site of the Second Monday trade days that was established in 1890. (http://www.secondmonday.com/) I was raised an outdoors man and a fisherman. Being green is a way of life that I have always known. I am an artist of unique home furnishings.
My childhood dream was to live on the water. I have been told that I have a unique way of putting a collection of unusual items together and changing it into something else that is both useful and marvelous.
When my dream became a reality, the shoreline gave up numerous items to discover and collect. I began collecting, sometimes searching, and other times the objects finding me. Whether it be a piece of Driftwood, a fishing lure or a shell that I happened to find. Occasionally I would come across a vintage piece of jewelry with a missing stone, a less than trusty clasp, or the one earring that was lost and didn’t make it home from the dance. Sometimes an unusual stone or a unique object would catch my eye along the trail, or at the bottom of a box at a flee market.
Using mirrors and driftwood as the focal point, I am able to allow the viewer to reflect on my finds as I occasionally see their reflection in the water
It is my hope that these objects that became a part of me become a part of you. By sharing the love of nature, my love of objects from the past and the joy of discovering something hidden, I am certain that my objects will create something that will bring the joy of discovery, evoke a certain distant past or future memory, or reclaim a spirit with in you as it has inspired me.
