Figuring Out A Blog's Purpose

While I was writing my book, "The Reindeer Keeper"-a heartwarming Christmas story geared to adults and released 10/10, everyone kept telling me I had to have a blog. I put if off for as long as I could for a few reasons. I didn't understand blogging and even if I did start this thing called blogging-what did I have to say? I knew it had to do something with the book-but what? When the light bulb went off-it was like a spotlight. Of course-I would write about growing up in the country for it was…See More

Writing is writing

It never dawned on me when writing my first work of fiction for adults-"The Reindeer Keeper" that some would ask my why I switched from writing/illustrating picture books to writing for adults. I never felt I switched. I felt an urge to write this story stirring in my mind that happened to be for adults. I put it off as long as I could. I didn't know if I had it in me to sit still and write a book with chapters; a book that took adult characters from page one straight through to the last page.…See More

"Snarly Sally" doesn't like to have her hair brushed. Do you know a "Snarly Sally"?

While on the road with the first two "Snarly Sally" picture books I met so many moms, grandmas, aunts, siblings of their version of a "Snarly Sally"-my little character I created when my daughter was a toddler with a daily head of snarls and tangles and a major dislike of sitting still to have her hair brushed. I even met many who grew up being a "Snarly Sally" themselves!

With the third "Snarly Sally" picture book soon to be released for this…
