TMOTM = Planet Tweet: Why I Use Twitter

For some reason the subject of Twitter elicits very strong emotional responses from people. They either wax poetic about how fun and useful it is, or they sneer with disdain about how boring and pointless it is. Both camps are pretty adamant leaving the uninitiated Twitter user confused. Which side is right? Is Twitter a revolutionary communication tool? Or is it just a way for egomaniacs to announce to the world what they are having for lunch? The answer is simple: They're both right. You see,…See More

Misery Really Does Love Company

http://www.flickr.com/photos/etamil/ / CC BY-SA 2.0I've been stewing for a couple weeks. One of my closest relationships has been in conflict, and I honestly don't know if it'll ever recover. The funny thing (not "ha ha" funny) is that I really can see the other person's side but the way they have acted is so bad that I wouldn't be inclined to…See More

"Oh yes. They sacked poor Colt McCoy (perfect QB name, by the way) and won. Our boys fought the good fight, though. But Mr. The Q is still in mourning. I'm guessing he will be until August when hope for another championship springs eternal."

"Hilarious! I think I remember they lost... right? Wasn't it "your" QB who got hurt? Can you tell I am pretty far from a rabid fan? :) I hope your household is recovering..."

Twins Turned 7

My twins turned 7 on Saturday.

I can't believe it.

Where has the time gone?

I was 38.5 weeks and baby A was breech. There would be no space to turn her around so we set the date and time with my doctor and I made my plans. My husband and I went to the movies and out to dinner that night (Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and a big steak). My surgery was scheduled for 6 am and I could barely sleep from excitement.

That whole day was like a dream. I remember… Continue

Hook 'Em...please?

Every year when football season starts (or really, about a month beforehand) I lose my husband. He is a rabid college football fan, and his favorite team is, of course, our hometown heroes the Texas Longhorns. Like many other Austinites, our entire weekend plans revolve around the games. I've had to make excuses at parties for him not attending if the hostess had so foolishly scheduled their party during a game time. His obsession is… Continue

Hi Amanda! Welcome. Join my club! I love hearing about other very active and involved women. Way to go! At 62 I've started a new career and just finished writing and illustrating a series of 6 kids books called The Waussies. Would you like to check out my site at www.waussieproductions.com? I'm looking for great moms to review my books. I'd be happy to send you a copy if you're interested.

Great to have you here! We've got an incredible group of women connecting on all sorts of topics, so kick back and make yourself at home. Check out the Twittermoms groups (we have something for everybody). The Twittermoms discussions are quite entertaining, too. Or, just get to know your fellow Twittermoms by browsing some Twittermoms profiles or searching for moms who share your interests, add friends, and start twittering with some incredibly smart and interesting moms.

PS: Let your friends know when you're on twittermoms with a click of the Announce Yourself link in your welcome box. If your Twitter friends are interested, they can check out the cool new place you've found!

Again -- if there is anything I can do for you, please let me know.
