Hi guys, I'm currently working through my struggles and am blogging about it hoping it will keep me accountable. I've battled peri & post natal depression each pregnancy it seems and just depression in general. Still hard to talk about it but I'm trying. If you're able to offer advice and support I'm welcoming it. I'm doing a mini series of blog posts called 21 days of accountability in which I hope to develop new habits. I'm up to day 4 tomorrow. It starts here:http://blog.chavahkinloch.com/life/21-days-of-accountability-day-1/

I have struggled to control my weight since I had my daughter 4 yrs ago. Many failed diets later, I started going back to the gym in May and have lost about 25 lbs. A friend of mine who is pregnant recently had a stroke so that has been a big eye opener. (She and the baby are ok) I do a lot of yoga, tai chi, pilates, and cardio. I have also changed the way I eat. I stopped drinking soda, and have been laying off the fried foods, carbs, and sodium. I drink lots of water and have a 'cheat' meal or day once a week where I eat whatever I want. So far so good!

Just had my 3rd baby 8 weeks ago! And ready to jump back into my weight loss journey back into my skinny jeans. So far, 10 pounds under my baby weight! I can't believe it!

I have had some success with emotional eating, I actually have signed up www.totellwellness.com, and had great success so far, I am able to control my emotional eating better than before and am excited to see the results as I have started to see a trainer to get me started on a fitness program. The best advice I learned from totellwellness was to find something to do when you feel the urge to eat, like exercise, reading, cleaning, something fun, the funner the better. Good luck

I finally got on a good workout program and now it's the food I need to concentrate on. I have TRIED several diets and failed due to my emotional eating habits, from stress, boredom. I have finally relize my problem and found myself some help online. I am currently using their program to help me stop emotional eating & compulsive binging. So far, it's been working great and I am more aware of food than I have ever been before.

Hi everyone,

I posted this in the events section as well--but this site is sooo big, I didn't want you to miss it:

Announcing my first free teleseminar of 2009

This year, my theme is THRIVING and I picked a topic to reflect it. Join me for a free teleseminar:

Lighten Up: have more fun & increase your motivation as you mak...

Creating change isn’t automatic and it isn’t always easy. However, it DOESN’T need to be a struggle. I encourage you not to miss this call where I will answer your questions and address your concerns about how to take the unnecessary struggle out of making healthy lifestyle changes. Learn how to have more fun and increase your motivation while avoiding the “helpful” mindsets that will sabotage you every time.

The teleseminar takes place February 25, 2009 at noon (Pacific), 3pm (Eastern).

If you can't attend, don't let that stop you from registering. The call will be recorded and registered participants will receive access to the class recording after the call.

If you've never attended a teleseminar before, it's easy. You'll just dial in on the phone number you will receive when you register (you are responsible for any long distance charges) and when prompted you'll be given an access code to enter.

To register, and for more information, go here.

Hope you can make it,

Melissa

I've been good,. I've been real good this week.
No sidetracking, to the gym twice and really healthy food for the whole week.
I'm sure everybody can imagine that I really freaked out to find 500 grams more on the scale yesterday morning. Man,.... I could cry !!!

It is not very motivating and I have to concentrate real hard to keep on track now. We have a 40th birthday party at friends tomorrow with front cooking and everything your heart desires. I think I will have a full plate of potatoes before I go there just to avoid me risking everything LOL.

Let's hope that next week this 500 grams will be gone toghether with 500 grams I expected to have lost.
I will keep you posted !

Please enjoy this "Musical Health Talk" 5:00 minute program I wrote and produced utilizing the 2008 winner of the WOR Radio Shining Star Talent contest, Michelle Raitzin" together with myself. While you listen...I encourage you to get on up and walk in place at your computer to experience "Musical Health!". The song I wrote is called "The New Kid" in the spirit of our first family's daughters. At 130 beats per minute (bpm) even if you are sitting in your chair...breath...inhale through the nose...exhale through the mouth...sit up nice and straight...abdominals in and up...dropping your shoulders. Enjoy and as always....Never Stop Movin'!
