Welcome!

Raising a Reader is the place to be if you'd like to discuss kids' books, authors, library programs, stories, and strategies for getting kids reading. I hope you'll take a moment to introduce yourself, and that you'll jump right in and join our discussions. Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to swing into the Introductions thread and let us 'meet' you.

We have lots of cool discussions going on right now (17 at last count!)-great links to share, favorite books and a survey about how much you read at your house. I hope that you'll take a look and jump into the ones that you find interesting. You can find them by clicking the 'view all' button at the bottom of the Discussions section. You're also welcome to start your own. I've even got a thread for you to pass on links to your reading-related blog postings! Please share with us and get a backlink on the way!

Love your library? Then enter to win a book prize package for the public or school library of your choice!
All books included are great "clean" reads that can be enjoyed by everyone!

http://www.squeakycleanreads.com/2012-clean-reads-library-giveaway....

Librarians, patrons, and teachers (basically everyone) are welcome to enter.

Simply let us know which library you would like to win!

There are 26 book prize packages up for grabs. Including titles from Random House, Lerner Publishing, Albert Whitman & Co., Scarletta Press, Gibbs Smith, and more!

There are even 3 "Boxcar Children" prize packs! With budget cuts, this is the perfect way to say "thank you" to your public or school library!

1st Place Prize
The library with the most entries (under the "What Library Are You Entering For?" entry below)
will get first choice of which prize package they want!
So spread the word to your librarians, teachers, and friends and let them know which library to enter for!

The remaining 25 prize packages will be awarded by random drawing from the rest of the entries.

Ends 04-01-12

Writing and reading are totally interconnected, aren't they?
