Hi Moms! How many of you live in Georgia? I wanted to take a minute to invite anyone in and around the Atlanta area to the biggest Parenting event of the year, Parents Palooza! Here's a link to my post about it: http://www.childrenteachingmama.com/2011/01/parents-palooza-parenti...

Please let me know if you'd be interested in attending. I may have some free tickets for you. :)

Hi all...I am mom to a 17.5 month old who was born at 32.5 weeks. I had preeclampsia and she had irregular heart rhythms, so I had an emergency C-section. She was 3 lbs. 2 oz. and was in the NICU for three weeks. She returned to the hospital at 6 weeks old with what we thought was RSV, but turned out to be Dilated Cardiomyopathy. She ended up having to have a heart transplant at 4.5 months old. She is doing well now, but is extremely small and a little bit delayed due to all her time in the hospital. Just looking to connect with others!

So glad to hear how well she's doing. Please check in to my site Milestone Mom for helpful hints on how to facilitate developmental milestones.

HI there everyone!!
I'm a mama to a beautiful little girl who was born at 36 weeks due to severe preeclampsia. She was 3lbs and 16 inches at birth and spent 4 weeks in NICU -- packin' on the pounds (or should I say, ounces!). She's 18 months now...and about 18lbs and 30 inches. And you know what? Her size doesn't stop her!!

Hi All,
I'm new to this group but I wanted to introduce myself. I am a pediatric occupational therapist with more than 16 years experience. I created a blog that is designed to teach therapy techniques so that you can help your child at home. Please take a look. Yesterday's post was regarding preemies and multiples. My site is www.milestonemom.com and it's an awesome resource. If you check out the categories, you'll find videos. I have 4 videos demonstrating exercises. You can email me if you want advice on a specific problem.

Was your baby a preemie? Did you have their eyes checked?

Hello Everyone!

I just wanted to let you know about my new music video "Child of Sunshine" that celebrates how much we love our children. It was inspired by my son who was born prematurely due to a placental abruption at 34 weeks.

I hope you will watch it at http://www.lullabylink.com and share it with as many people as you can.

Because the Children's Miracle Network played such a huge role in saving our son's life we are donating all proceeds from this song through the end of the year to CMN.

Thank you for watching and downloading and spreading the word!

Blessings,
Amy Robbins-Wilson

Hi! My little girl is 2 months. She was born at 34 weeks due to severe PIH and preeclampsia. She weighed 3 lbs 14 oz and spent 14 days in the NICU. Her next weigh in/doctor's appointment is Thursday. I'm hoping she reached the 6 lb mark!

Hi everybody, I'm a grandma of a preemie. Our little one was due in August and born in April. We say she wanted that diamond birthstone. A whole 1 pound 5 and a quarter oz (gotta get that quarter in there) and 10 in long. It was a really tough road, things done to her little body that just wracked us with grief but we knew that all resources were being done in the NICU to save her life. What a little figthter she was and STILL is. We are celebrating her 2nd birthday soon and gratefull for her everyday. We celebrate all the little milestones. The latest is she broke the 20 pound mark! She is still behind other kids her age but I suspect she will catch up completely by 5 yrs. We are thankful for everyday and what a great cuddler she is. Bless you all on your journey with your preemies.
