Hi everyone,

I am a photographer in NYC. If there is any way I can be of any help any of the moms in the area I am happy to. I am always looking to do child editorial shoots and submit to child magazines (great exposure and experience for child models!). below are some links of my son. NEVER pay money to an agent or take expensive lessons!! if they like your child they will make money from getting them work and dont need to charge you other costs. Also no child under 10 needs expemsive photo shoots and comp cards etc... they change so fast, a good pic of them by a friend is great. we all think are kids are stars but to many out there want to take advantage of it! Also make sure your child has really great self esteem as they will have to learn about rejection and that its not personal!

Hello all. I have a gorgeous 16 yo daughter who is exotic looking. Everyone always comments about how beautiful she is....We live in Orlando and I was thinking that perhaps this would be a good market. Any Ideas or help appreciated.

On monday we have an appointment with an agency to see if they want to sign my son, Sage. We'll keep you posted on the results. We live in St. Paul, MN. If anyone is on here from MN and want to talk about modeling and agencies I would love to. We are totally new to this, don't know really what to expect or how this all works.

I have a Beautiful 22 year old model and would like to find her more jobs and a manager because she is getting alot of Offers but how do you know who to trust? I think shes to the point of needing a manager.

Thanks for your comment Karen. I worked in wholesale children's clothing for 16+ yrs and know about the sample sizes. Now am involved with an established clothing line for children. We are having a modeling contest beginning in May for someone to be featured in our Fall catalog. I think you are an awesome outlet for those of us looking into getting our own children in the biz. In Dallas: Kim Dawson, The Campbell Agency, The Clutts Agency.
Remember modeling is about fitting into the sample size clothing.
No matter how gorgeous your child is, if they are not the right size, they won't work. Any legitimate agency will ask you to send a snapshot then they will call you if they feel your child will work.Some of them have open days where you can come and bring your child and interview. Do NOT ever put makeup on your child for photographs or to go in and interview.

Megan, babies work only if they are the right size as well. I can't remember what the sizes are but an agent can let you know. Same goes for babies, send a snapshot.

Remember this is a lot of work, a lot of driving, a lot of rejection. It is a business with a capital B. Think long and hard about how you will feel when your child walks into a casting and is rejected. Think how YOUR CHILD will feel. This is not a business for the faint of heart. Some kids work a huge amount when they are the right size then do absolutely nothing for years because they are "out of size". That can be a hard thing to take. Consider your child's personality carefully before you delve into modeling. Make sure you do it for the right reasons.
