Blogger, by far. It's easy to use and somewhat customizable. You can find themes all over online. I used Squarespace. I love it, they're super cool, it's super fast to post and it's only $8/month. I host video, photos, and a ton of my junk, there. That said, I suggest Blogger when you're first starting out OR any blog related to a page you use a lot - Facebook, Flickr. Sometimes posting where you already exist makes it all so much easier.

I'm a wordpress gal. Each one has it's pros and cons. Just do your research!
I think wordpress has a lot more options for customizing your content, but I hear blogger is easier to "beautify"

Going against the grain here and say that I LOVE WORDPRESS. I am able to customize and update very easily. I pay for hosting (you can read more about why I chose Hostgator here). The word free sometimes/usually/generally has attachments that I don't want to cope with.

Wordpress is open source code which is relatively easy to learn and follow. But you don't need to know it to run your blog. You can really do a lot with wordpress in my opinion.

I'm on Wordpress and I like it very much ... I haven't used Blogger but see it everywhere ... I'm sticking w/ Wordpress however -- so I recommend it ... it was recommended by my little sister's English professor and it's very user-friendly ... OH and welcome to the blogosphere ... :)

I'm a WordPress girl, too.

Once you get accustomed to the options of whatever site you chose, you'll love it. Just be patient with yourself when you start and explore everything you can. It takes time to get the hang of it.
