I'm looking for other Mom blogs to follow and comment on.  If you comment on mine, I'll return the favor.  I'll also start a master list on this post so others can find our blogs to follow and do the same commenting.

My only problem is if you use blogger you need to have it set so I can comment using my name and url.  I don't reply using google, openid or any of the other accounts.

Hope all of you with mom blogs will comment.  It's much easier than doing an internet search to find everyone :)

Mom blogs in the Follow List:

Disgruntled Mom
The Mummy Bean
Raspberry Relief

Val, I am on blogger, but I don't know how to set it so you can just use your name and url.  Any ideas?

My blog is www.hopealicious.blogspot.com....it's A Busy Mom's Crock Pot Cooking Adventures (All Crock Pot recipes)

Thanks!

Hope

If you go into settings, then click the comments link at the top.  I believe you will need to click anyone and then it won't require an account for commenting.  I don't use my google accounts so I'm not positive.  But all the other options show an account so I'm thinking it's a pretty good assumption ;)
Ok, I figured it out.  I was having issues with spam commenting on my page, so I had to change it to registered users only.  I have a friend working to redesign my web page, so hopefully he can help me block spam a different way!
LOL, I hardly ever have comments so I have no idea what a person would have to do to leave a comment. I thought WordPress was supposed to be user friendly...I guess it depends on the user because I don't find it friendly.

what kinds of things are you having problems with disgruntled mom?  I can help.  I've been using WP exclusively for all of my sites and blogs for the last 4 years, but started using it before then.

Yeah, blogger doesn't give you many options for controlling your blog so I have no idea how else you would combat the spam.  With wordpress I have any number of plug ins I can click and install.

oh, disgruntled mom, make sure and leave your blog url :)
I find it difficult to add things (like the Social Moms widget!). I keep ending up with just text in my sidebar. Any time I make changes or try to add a widget or picture I end up frustrated.

I'm at http://disgruntledmom.com

I added your blog to my feedreader because you crack me up.

Are you adding a new text widget to your sidebar and adding the code there?  Then also making sure you save that new widget before you move on to anything else.  If you add the social moms widget and it's coming up only text then I would say that you may not have copied it completely.  Look for any broken code at the front or back.  Everything should be inside < >.  I swear it's the littlest things that will drive you the nuttiest.

I have a friend who is going to make my site look "awesome!"  After he does that, we'll see how I can handle spam etc.
It turns out I'm not allowed to put java script widgets on my blog :0(

Hmm, well I never did use wordpress.com I went straight to .org so I can't comment there about using widgets, scripts or plugins.  But if you ever want to jump to your own hosting let me know.  I can set you up for only $3.95 a month or less, depending on the subscription.

If I remember right the socialmom widget only gave us one option to copy/paste right?  I know some will give a script and second long html code as well.

My blog is called Raspberry Relief: Nourishment for Women.  It's located at http://raspberryrelief.blogspot.com.  If you like the site, I invite you to also sign up for my newsletter.  There are links to sign-up on my blog along with links to schedule consulations with me and have inspirational card readings.  @Hope, you can allow anyone to comment on your blogspot blog but still take some steps to eliminate spam.  For example, try checking that you want to moderate all comments and enable word verification.  You can do all this on the same page under the "settings" tab.  Taking these steps should help with managing your comments and eliminating spam. Even though everyone can comment, you must approve what they wrote before it's published and they must verify letters before commenting to make sure an actual human is doing the posting, not a program.
