I think chicken, brats and burgers are very reasonable for bar-b-ques!
Another cheap go-around is homemade potatoe salad...if you have a discount grocery store..get your potatoes from there ($1-$2 for a 5 pound bag), onions, sandwhich spread and a little mustard and you have a great potato salad (I can email you the recipe)...OR tuna salad..that is always great and very good on the pockets.
Chips and dip work wonders with teens..they like simple too! ;)

Your neighborhood dollar store has colorful plates and napkins to make it festive OR just a solid color to make it simple. You can also purchase your alluminum pans or seasonings from there.

I hope this helps you some!
Big vat of homemade pasta salad (I like to use several different kids of pasta), big green salad, Veggie tray, I love to make watermelon boats..they take time, but look great. Don't forget some boca burgers or salmon burgers from Sam's Club. There are lots of vegetarians out there in the teen world. My 17-yr old hasn't eaten a hot dog for about 15 years!

Can your daughter burn a CD of her favorite songs? You could get a pack of 100 cds cheap at Sam's too. Good party favor.

Kids don't care about fancy plates/napkins/tableclothes...dollar store +Sam's should cover it.

You didn't say if you need a cake, but Walmart or Sam's cakes actually taste pretty good and the price is excellent. Or you could make a bunch of choc. chip cookies. I'd do bar cookies and cut them small. Faster than spooning out cookies.
I would suggest buying whole chickens, cooking them in a crock pot, pulling the meat and then mixing with bbq sauce. We just did this and it was super cheap and delicious!

Great ideas!! Thank you. I ESPECIALLY LOVE the cd idea. I would have worried about the party favors on Thursday morning!! Off to Sam's tomorrow. Thanks again.
