So my husband is coming home from deployment in about 3 weeks...I really want to look the best I have well..ever! I have a gym membership, but I have completely lost the motivation to go. After a having a sick baby, and then getting sick myself, and going out of town for over a month, I've totally gotten out of the routine of going. What can I do to get my motivation back? I think to myself daily "I should go to the gym" but I always come up with some excuse why I can't. Please help me break this cycle and get back into the gym so I can be totally confident for my husband's homecoming!

I know it can be hard sometimes... I work out six days a week!  I am either hiking, running, lifting or doing zumba!  What do you like to do?  Sometimes when I get in a rut I just go on a really nice long walk and that gets me motivated again just being outside!  When I am really in a rut I take out a picture I have saved of me from 4 years ago when I was in really great shape!  Sigh... want to look like that again so that usually is enough to kick my butt in gear!

You know once you go you will feel so great you'll be glad you did!  You just have to walk through that front door!  You can do it!  Good luck!

Hi Elise,

I just posted about staying motivated and enthusiastic about our weight loss and exercise goals.

Hope you find it useful!

I cancelled my gym membership for that very reason.  For the cost of one month's membership, I purchased Slim-in -6 by Beachbody and workout regularly at home now anytime day or night.  I was so pleased I became a Beachbody coach and now get weekly checks for encouraging others to get and stay fit with our awesome fitness programs.  If I can be of help, feel free to call me at 770-329-7228.

It is definitely hard to stay motivated.. even harder when you're always constantly taking care of other people but yourself!  I have the benefit of being able to workout at work with classes offered and a workout room.  Normally I'm a pretty motivated person when it comes to staying in shape but ever since I had my daughter it's been a lot harder to motivate myself to workout... even at work!  I feel I'd much rather take a nap! lol...  I just started doing TurboFire (by Chalene Johnson - LOVE her!!) and I seriously love the workouts.  Normally I loathe workout DVD's at home too.  I used to be an avid runner but even that wasn't doing it for me.  I've started getting up in the morning before going to work to get my workout in.  Every day is a different workout so it doesn't get old.  I think one key for me is getting my workout in before anyone else is up and about.  Once there is movement in the household it makes it a lot harder to get anything done for yourself!!  Number one you really need to figure out something you enjoy doing!  And number two try really hard to get it done in the morning.  There is just something about the fact knowing that you are done working out for the day!! :-)  www.facebook.com/bobbiejoweber
