CHILD CARE

I am a Mother, an Early Childhood Education; advocate, student, educator, and expert... I also have my own Child Care business.

I put this group together to cater to those who work in child care, who have children in child care, those looking for child care. along with those related to the Early Childhood Education Field.

Comment by candi on November 9, 2010 at 12:21pm: You are preparing to hire a babysitter for the first time. What all do you need to do to be well prepared for successfully employing a babysitter. Determining what job tasks you want the babysitter to perform (just childcare? feeding? house cleaning? transporting? administering medications?)
1. Determining what traits and skills you will seek in a babysitter (based on the job tasks above)
2. Determining what you are willing to pay a babysitter (usually expressed in dollars per hour worked)
3. Determining what you are willing to do for your babysitter (transporting her to/from your house, allowing her to snack on items in your fridge, etc.)

Comment by Carolin Soldo on August 19, 2009 at 7:57am: When it comes to childcare, families have many choices - help from family and friends, neighbors, daycare centers, and of course, nannies and babysitters. I have a 19 month old and a 3 week old in the care of a fantastic nanny. There are many advantages and disadvantages to all of your childcare choices. Please share your experiences! I'd love to hear from other moms.
