WRITING PROMPTS AND DAILY BLOG PROMPTS FROM SOCIALMOMS.COM

We recently launched a community-powered feature to help moms find a little inspiration for non-commercial blogging/writing topics. To get us off on the right foot, and give us your ideas for prompts you'd like to write about or see others write about.

For example:

If you could have dinner with one fictional character, who would it be and why?

Keep it fun, open-ended, non-commercial, and on a topic you would think would be of interest to your blog and your peers' blogs.

We are working on some topic ideas of our own, and would also love to feature some prompts from members of our community. Share your ideas below, and if we feature a blog prompt from you, you'll get credit for it, and we'll give you and your blog recognition in the weekly newsletter.

All we ask is if you write on these topics, please include a link back to this page [http://www.socialmoms.com/forum/topic/listForTag?tag=writing+prompt] and let readers know where you found your inspiration.

You can get our daily prompts by subscribing to this RSS feed in your favorite reader: feed://www.socialmoms.com/forum/topic/listForTag?tag=writing+prompt...

We hope this helps you keep your blogs fresh and lively and helps increase your traffic!

If you could duplicate yourself, what task(s) would your duplicate do and why?

I always find it fun to read about how dad participate or not in the family! Whether it be a funny story or something special that he did with the kids or that time he did the laundry for no special reason. I like to hear how much the moms appreciate the dads just as much as when we're appreciated!
What would you do with one hour of free time? (No responsibilities, kids, chores, work, etc. - just one hour that was all to yourself)
If you accepted a challenge to not complain or whine for a whole week, how do you think you'd do — and what do you think you'd do when you were tempted to complain or whine?
What methods do you use to increase blog readership?

What's your favorite family recipe?

How did you handle your first blowout diaper?

Sometimes words can completely stop you cold in your tracks. Whether they're hurtful, judgmental or just plain dumb, what words/phrase has made you put on the brakes recently and why?

What ages are your kids and what do they say they want to be when they grow up?

Is it anything like you wanted to be when you were growing up?

Are you what you thought you'd be?

Who is your mom or dad "superhero" and why?  What about them have you found most inspiring, and why do see them as heroes?  A neighbor that helped you with homework, your own mom?
