Why do girls have to buy pink stuff?
I often ask myself that same question. I'm not really the princess type. In fact, it's my husband who has to urge me to take a shower after I've been lounging around the house for an hour after a long run. I love pretty things, but the whole princess thing has never been my cup of tea. So, I was surprised when my 2 1/2 year old daughter started talking about princess stuff. Where did this come from? In fact, I felt a bit guilty because I never really bought her many girly pink things. She had lots of hand-me-downs from her brother - toys, clothes, blankets.
She's happy to twirl around in her "princess skirt" and wear her "princess dress" to bed. But, luckily for me, she's just as happy to wield a light saber and battle with her brother. Not that I condone violence, but you know what I mean.
Given the recent media buzz about the new book "Cinderella Ate My Daughter" by Peggy Orenstein (I will write about that later as I have much to say about it), I think this video is a necessary (and endearing) watch for all moms out there.

My daughter is the typical girl in this matter.She refuses to even acknowledge poeple who don't call her Princess Reagan//I can't imagine if I told her she wasn't one..lol..but she has no problem getting down and playing action figures or wrestling the boys either,so it all works out in the end.

So cute, in address to question... Well every girl is different. I have little girls in the family that naturally are all about princess and beauty from tot years, and then we have ones that don't really care. :) Same with boys and having to have blue green, etc. But some don't mind wearing pink shirts and all. :)

Most girls want to be a princess. If not that is ok. My daughter makes sure her girls do get pink if they want, but also ecnougaes things like cars and balls, too. Good for her.

My Step Daughters Favorite color is pink & purple !! So everything she has is pink or purple.. I wasn't for sure if it was just because its the color or if was a girl thing !!
