Hi Mom-
If you are like most moms and dads, you want your children to grow into responsible, successful adults, right? As a character educator, I have found that developing habits of character is essential. So, I'm curious, how do you share lessons of character with your children?

Permalink Reply by Julie Watson Smith on August 26, 2010 at 6:43pm Since my children were born and have been able to comprehend language, I have been teaching them about compassion, kindness, sharing, empathy, honesty and integrity. These characteristics are what daily life entails and when they respond to a situatiion that illustrates the trait, I reinforce their action positively. They learn by their own examples and experiences. My children will often tell me. "Mom, remember when you told me about....." well I experienced that today or I did that today.
