To not take anything for granted. Everything can change in a blink of an eye so cherish what you do have.
I have learned that I knew nothing and at times I know even less!
I learned that I should never had said things like "I'll never take my kid to the circus!" I was never a fan of them, and I'm still not. But when Jake saw that sign and looked at me with those big blue eyes, I totally gave in. So saying "never" before you have kids is pretty much guaranteed to bite you on the butt later!

I learned there's nothing sweeter than baby feet. They start out soft and then toughen up as the baby becomes a toddler. I cried the first time I realized my baby's feet were no longer as soft as rose petals.

how important "me" time really is! =)
"Do as I say, not as I do" never works (and should never be tried) with kids....you have to lead by example all the time
Patience, I never had it before. Three kids later I am as patient as can be.
I've learned never to listen to other people. Trust your instincts as a Mom and parent. You will know what is right and best for your child. Everyone wants to give their opinions and think they know exactly what you should do, but they really don't. lol! Tune them out and do your thing! We learned that fairly quickly! No two children are the same. :)
Every day is a chance to learn something new...just sometimes through someone else's eyes!
Oh my LORD I've learned me some patience :) Especially as the mom of a teen and toddler!

I learned not to sweat the small stuff, and that time with them is the most important thing.

thanks!
