The most spontaneous thing I did since my son was born was start my own online business. I just went for it without really planning and named it after my son Alexander. It is fun and gives me the opportunity to always be home and available for my family. It's hard to be spontaneous as a family with my husbands work schedule. We just go with the flow and enjoy each others company whenever we get the free time.
The most spontaneous thing I've done was leave for a week-end getaway with the hubby. He booked a Suite in the Pocono's for our Anniversary and I had to find a babysitter for the kids & pack to be ready in a hour. I had to cancel the rest of the weekend's schedule. But -we had a great time!!
Changing my daughter to a new daycare the day after we were finally fed up with the old one. Best decision I ever made!
When our now 8 year old was 6 months old, my husband and I took off to San Diego for a weekend. It was a spur of the moment decision. We left on a Friday, and returned the following Monday. We used frequent flier miles to get us there and splurged on tickets to the Jets vs. Chargers game. It was one of the best getaways that I've ever had with my husband!
One of the most spontaneous things I've ever done since becoming a mother was to start my own creative production companies where I later produced my own PBS TV Series. I was nursing my third son to sleep for a few weeks in a row where I kept having a re-occurring dream. The dream was me creating and filming my TV series where I helped women improve their lives and the world around us. After I realized that I was having the same dream over and over, I started to journal them, which lead to acting upon them and poof, here I am today, with so many wonderful accomplishments because of it. I NEVER planned on taking this route, but it found me because I gave in to the spontaneous-ness of my "dreams".
The most impulsive thing I did after becoming a mother was separating from my child's father a few months after our son was born. I found out he was cheating on me and made the decision to walk away. He relinquished his rights to his son a month later. I am now married my husband adopted him and we are now happily raising three amazing boys.
My husband had to do security at a black tie event for work one day. When he tried on his rented tux I suddenly decided to put on one of my old prom dresses and some makeup. We did an impromptu photo shoot and took pictures of each other. Then we dressed the baby in a black onsie that says "This is my little black dress." and we went on a date to the library.
The most impulsive thing I have done was to buy a Shih-tzu puppy when my son was only a few weeks old. I was NUTS!!!! A puppy, a newborn and a 4 year old. It seemed as though I spent all day, everyday cleaning poop, either the baby's or the dogs. Of course, now that he's housebroken (the dog, not the baby..LOL), we love him and can't imagine our family without him.
Let's see ... Impulsive? ... Other than chopping off my hair after baby #1? (isn't that what all moms do??) Anyways, it's long again TG! Back to the question, I would say getting the idea for my blog & bringing it to life is the most impulsive thing I have done. I am an art director & had never done anything on the "web" side so it was a big thing for me. I went from 125 hits a week to now over 2000 hits each week (in 10 months). It may sound cliché but to keep the fun in life, I try to stop and appreciate every stage I am in. I dropped the Supermom gig & try to appreciate the "imperfections" in motherhood. We do our best to take little getaways as a family & stay busy making memories.
Most impulsive things I've done since I became a mother?

I started my blog, and it's still going strong after almost 2 years.

I take days off from work, just because... I want to spend with at home with my girl.

I started a home based business...
I left my baby with the babysitter for 8 hours so I could get my hair dyed cherry bomb red and black. Cheered me up! Baby got to make a new friend! I felt 10 years younger! Would do it again in a heartbeat...
I think life with twins is the definition of spontanious. All the best planning in the world is often tossed right out the window and you have to wing it.
I'd say one thing that had people staring though was one day, while at the playground it started to pour, everyone went under cover until it let up. When it let up just a bit, I took one of my boys, who had learnt to walk that day, out to a big puddle to let him splash in it barefoot, more than that, I showed him how to splash in the puddle. All the other parents thought I was insane. We had a blast.
