Raising a 1 year old while being pregnant, working part time, and going to college! I did graduate in May 2010 and 1 month later my 2nd son was born!

Besides raising my children post-divorce, my biggest challenge was going back to school when my children were teenagers.

In a word: Disabilities. I'm hearing impaired. My son is blind and has Asperger's, a high-functioning form of autism. Our society has yet to accept disabled people as normal rather than people who need a cure.

By the way, I teach full time. I don't work in a sheltered workshop. I pay taxes and I vote. I'm not on welfare, despite a moderately severe disability. I'll just keep working to show others that disabilities aren't bad; they're just another form of normal.

My first thoughts are my weight and my health...but the most challenging is having to deal with the mental illness, and drug addiction of my oldest child. I would gladly exchange places with him, if it were possible. It is heart breaking and painful to watch him destroy his life, and hurt those around him.
