Love game nights! We all can be a little competitive and talk a lot of smack...all in fun of course!

We like to have game night with my step-daughter she loves scrabble junior. When its all of us we like to take the kids to the park and play outside, my boys love the slide and swings at the park, since its warmer outside we always go swimming.

Lately our favorite family activity seems to be Flag Football! Now that the weather is nice and not raining all the time.. kids have a good time, for the little ones up to the adults!

Backyard Bonfires in the summer time! Daddy sets out the firepit, Mommy grabs the hotdogs & S'Mores ingredients and we all sit around the fire pretending to be on a campout!

Has to be just hanging out together.. Talking, laughing, playing rough-and-tumble with our toddler. Just being a family.

Honestly, we have so many great family activities. But, for some weird reason, we never have more fun than when we sit around the living room and play a fun game of telephone. The kids just think it's hilarious and even more laughs when my dad plays with us! :)

Our favorite family activity is dragging out the grill, firing it up and grill up some hamburgers and hot dogs. Then as the sun goes down, the grown-ups are relaxing in the lounge chairs while the kids are out in the yard chasing lightening bugs. Later, after the kids get tired, one of them will go and grab a favorite book and Daddy will read to them as they drift off to sleep.

My favorite family activity: Walking the stairs in Beachwood Canyon

We live in the charming Beachwood Canyon, just a mile from the busy, eclectic Hollywood traffic of people and vehicles, shops, businesses, gas stations and eateries. So we are very fortunate to have a piece of nature for our peace of mind. When my husband gets off work on summer evenings, and it's stays light, we take our nearly 3-year-olds for a walk past our neighborhood Beachwood market (literally a short block up the hill) and go either direction toward 155 steps of delight. My girls love climbing the stairs (and un-assisted). Watching them navigate their way up. one step at a time, reaching for the railing, stopping to pull a leaf or wild flower, giggling incessently, and ultimately playing leap frog (sometimes you don't know which one is going to make it up first), we have a family activity that fosters growth, curiousity, and good health (exercise!). It is amazing to see 2 sets of tiny legs at work - the strength and endurance - to make it up those stairways, and have the energy to walk with us back down and around as we wind our way home (enjoying the little pieces of nature they discover along the way).
