My husband and I have a tradition of a "day date" near Valentines day. It makes it easier to get childcare- our parents are usually more agreeable to keep the kids for a day vs. overnight and we go out to lunch instead of fighting weekend night time crowds. Plus it's about 8 hours of time together without the kids. That only happens a few times a year!

Now that we have small children, I love a night for just the two of us. Nothing fancy since we can't go for too long away from the sitter. A dinner for two with adult conversation is divine!
Any way is fine with me~As long as I am with my Honey :-)
special dinner with family .
I like a simple Valentine's Day at home A great movie & picnic basket full of food & yummy treats! :)
Valentine's day is so so so overrated...BUT it's a great excuse for family time! So we usually just get our favorite take-out, a movie that the kids will enjoy and eat picnik style in front of the t.v.
family time!
Alone with my husband. We usually try to go out earlier in the day to eat something special or celebrate ahead of time to avoid the crazy crowds at our local restaurants.
Dinner with my husband.  We tend to skip dates nights throughout the year, so this is a chance to enjoy a night out.
Me and my hubby like to go out a couple days before (or after) Valentine's Day to avoid the crowds.  It is a lot nicer this way.  (One year we waited 2 hours for a table, not very fun).  Then on the actual Valentine's Day itself we just stay at home together as a family and watch a movie together. :)
Well for the last couple of years, my bestfriends and our husband plan a day out.  Last year we went to a fancy restaurant that we normally would not go to.  We all got dolled up and had a great time.  No kids just grown ups.  It was a lot of fun.  The food was great.  But the company was even better!
I much prefer to spend VDay at home with my husband. Get a good take-out dinner and a movie to watch. Kids at the babysitters. We're not much for pomp and circumstance (I've received a boquet of flowers for VDay, but then I can think of all the other things I'd have rather had that money spent on!) in our house. With the kids, though, we like to get them a special VDay gift and recognize the day with extra hugs and kisses. I'm hoping this year I can start a tradition of helping out in my daughter's class for her party.
