In honor of the Alamo Insiders program, please join us as we celebrate summer with the latest SocialMoms and Alamo call for submissions! School is almost out and it’s time for summer getaways that mean big fun for the entire family. We want to know: what do you think is a not-to-be missed summer getaway every kid should experience? Is it a weekend hiking trip at a national park, or maybe a week-long stay in a beach house? A day of fishing at the lake? Would you recommend a drive down the coast to learn about the local landscape and experience some water sports? Would you tour museums in New York City, or take a memorable trip to Walt Disney World? Are you more the type that likes visiting some of the historic sites your children learned about in class? Alamo would like you to share five summer getaways every kid should experience in a thoughtful, original essay post of at least 400 original words.

We're looking for quality over speed, so please read on.

How it works:
We are looking for one hundred creative, original and authentic submissions of high quality. Create an original post on your blog, in 400 words or more (using your own words), about five summer getaways every kid should experience. Include a thoughtful introduction, original content within the body of your post, and a conclusion. Check your spelling and grammar. You must also include the disclosure statement that is below in your post and install the campaign widget in the sidebar of your blog. Then follow the rest of the requirements below. We will review every post and select the first one hundred qualifying submissions to receive a $25 Amazon.com gift card!

Highlights from your posts, tweets and tips will be collected and featured on http://alamoinsiders.socialmoms.com, and distributed across the web for all to see. The blogging program starts on May 23, 2011 and the submission window closes at 11:59pm PST on June 14, 2011. We will contact the qualifying bloggers on or about June 21, 2011. Requirements:
To participate, we ask that you:

Create an original blog post on your blog, in 400 words or more, sharing "five summer getaways every kid should experience." Please include a thoughtful introduction and conclusion in addition to the main body of your essay. Give it plenty of thought, and include content that your readers would like to hear about and can connect with! Short or poorly written posts will not be accepted. Copying and pasting does not count. Blank posts submitted to create a blog link on the discussion page will be disqualified. Don't copy another blogger's post or ideas. Plagiarism is grounds for immediate disqualification.
Participants must include the following disclosure as a footnote of their post:
“I wrote this blog post while participating in the SocialMoms and Alamo blogging program, for a gift card worth $25. For more information on how you can participate, click here.” (make sure you link to http://alamoinsiders.socialmoms.com/about3)
