Okay, when did you first start shaving your legs?

My daughter is 11 years old (6th grade)and really wants to start shaving her legs and has been naggiing about it for over a year.  I think I was about 12 or 13 7/8th grade-ish.  I have been saying no up until now, but truly, her legs are pretty hairy, blond but hairy.  What do you think?  Any safe alternatives to shaving for young girls?

I think I started around 5th grade, so I was 10/11. I begged my mom too. When I was in 5th grade, I would just want to wear jeans all year around because the kids started to make fun of me. My mom said she hadn't started until she was 13/14, but realized that the kids in my school were really making fun of me and starting to drag down my self esteem. So she let me. Keep in mind, my hair is naturally jet black (nearly) and I'm 100% Italian, so I had the forces of the earth against me. lol

12 is definitely old enough now days...believe me. My daughter started shaving early because it embarrassed her since so many other girls did it already. The last thing I wanted was a little hair on her legs to make her feel inferior so we got a pretty little razor and she is dedicated...more than I ever was!

Suggestion...save your worries for the big stuff. Hair isn't worth it.
