My favorite new book right now is: "Nurture Shock"
It's like the book Freakonomics for parents. It talks about conventional ideas about parenting and shows recent findings that call it into question. It's a super fast read, each chapter is really a self-contained topic. After reading it I felt like there is a lot more mystery to "parenting" than most "experts" want to admit. :) Which is always a good feeling!
How about 100 Years of Solitude, if you haven't read it already. Really great book--an oldie but goodie
- Our Book Club finished The Help before Christmas. LOVED it. Great social commentary. Claudia
Check out Little Bee by Chris Cleave. It's amazing!!
house of prayer #2 is great for book clubs (FYI, giving away 2 on my blog!)
The Memory Palace
madame tussaud by michelle moran (IT IS BIG though!)
The Abundance Book is awesome!!
I have just finished reading Madness its an amazing and very insightfull. Highly recommended.
I second the recommendation of Nurtureschock. I finished it recently, and really enjoyed it. If you like "momoirs" try Ayelet Waldman's Bad Mother. I liked it a lot.
For fiction, I recently read Anchee Min's Pearl of China, which is a fictionalization of the life of Pearl S. Buck.
