Is your Christmas Tree up? When do you put it up?

Hi Dawn!
I put my tree up on St. Nick's Day, December 6th, for a month, which happens to beEpiphany (January 6). Epiphany is also the 12th day of Christmas, so I feel as if I'm doing 'something traditional' ;0D LOL

This is the first year it hasn't already been up. Before DH & I were married my family use to put our tree up Thanksgiving day & when we had our apartment we put our's up around the same time. Right now we are living with In-Laws and Last year she didn't even bother putting up the big tree & this year there is nothing us as of the moment. So its very different from what Im use too. We use to get in our PJ's and get marshmellows and hot cocoa and decorate the tree & sing christmas songs and read scriptures from the bible and tell stories room when we were growing up. Some great quality good family time!

I love these stories and traditions. Saint Nick's Day is a good one. I may do that next year and start a new family tradition.

Growing up, our tree was up on Thanksgiving and down by December 31st (to avoid bad luck).

We went to Frosty's Christmas Tree Farm in Sebastopol CA on Sat to get our tree. We go every first Sat in December with friends. After the tree picking, we head to a winery for wonderful sparkling wine, then dinner at this historic hotel. It's fun to make a day out of it. Then we wake up on Sunday to decorate the tree. The kids love it. It's become our Christmas tree tradition:)

Mine went up the weekend after Thanksgiving. I usually take it down the 26th. Weird, once Christmas is over, I want everything taken down.

We have a tradition of putting our tree up during the weekend that falls closest to my birthday (Dec. 4). This year, we bought our tree on Dec. 6 and spent the day decorating it. Afterwards, we enjoyed a nice dinner (which my husband so generously prepared for us). It was fun! I love Christmas and all the tradition that surrounds it. I could sit here all day and read about others' traditions too!

We're not even close to putting it up - I really should be more organized.
Everything is so busy right now, maybe I'll wait until the homework has slowed down and the extra-curricular activities have stopped so that the kids will have time to enjoy the decorating.
