On one of my sites, I've got some great artisans submitting handmade giveaways to promote their craft or their blog. Has anyone here ever ran a handmade giveaway on their blog? Did you see a lot of return traffic from the experience? Where did you promote it?

I'm wondering if these giveaways are a good way to get steady Twitter/Facebook/blog followers, or if they are a very temporary traffic driver.
