DO YOU KEEP ANY OF YOUR KIDS' OUTGROWN ITEMS OF CLOTHING AS SOUVENIRS?

I have kept quite a lot of items, some are on bookcases like ornaments, some are packed safely away. I tend to keep those that are particularly beautiful childrens' clothes or shoes, those that hold a certain significance, memory etc. Would love to know what you do .

best

 Hi Michele

That's exactly what I like to do as well. I have started doing something else as well. I am a professional artist and a lot of what I do is about my family friends, my life my environment. I have started creating paintings and drawings of my son's little shoes.I feel this elevates them to another level (and on to the wall),  and I create something to be passed along to other generations of the family  which was  inspired by my son's childhood. You can see these two pieces of work on my blog www.expressurselfart.blogspot.com

I will post more of these paintings  as I make them.

Yes, I keep some special items items.  I have 3 kids and about 3 totes worth of clothes.  My Mom kept a few of my baby clothes and it was awesome to let my own baby girl wear them!  I hope to someday see my own grandchildren wearing the clothes that I've saved.  :)

Yes! With the clothes I hope to make a quilt one day!
I have a friend who did JUST that - her kids still have them - and one of her kids is a West Point cadet today.
I have kept some things. Some has been destroyed by basement flooding & some I may make other things out of, like a pillow out of an old shirt or tee with a great design...
I have kept some of my daughter's preemie clothes. She was born 13 weeks early and was 2 pounds. I love to hold it up by her now and see how far she has come. She is now 3 years old and 31 pounds. A perfectly healthy energetic little girl.
Of Course! I keep all of the clothes and blankets that are special to me and then I am going to make one big blanket using everything. That way I will always have the memories, and a blanket my family can use.

I recycle all of my kids clothing, more like swap them.I save their first outfit and hat that they came home from the hospital in.lol

You should check out thredUP it's a fantastic site where you swap your clothes through the mail (kinda like Netflix).

You will save the drive to the clothing store and you're exchanging items you no longer want with someone who no longer wants theirs, therefore recycling and reusing! you can set preferences for use, size, brand and season of the clothing you want. It'a FREE to join.

The best part about this site is thredUP decided to partner with various retailers (a new one each month) to provide the thredUP community with special boxes of brand new items from different retailers that you can choose from.

Last week I recieved my box with like 5 Ralph Luaren shirts for my toddler,Gap jeans, and many other brands.Check it out to see if you like it.

I have saved the baby hats that each of my kids wore in the hospital.  For my first who was a preemie I saved the tiny preemie onesie.  I really havent saved any of my sons clothes.  I just recently saved an outfit that both my oldest and my youngest girls wore.  I have pics of them both in the outfit at Christmas time and think it is interesting because youngest was only 2 weeks old and oldest was 3 months old.

Oh Yeal!  I have bins of them.  I plan to create.....*something* with them, one fine day!

I try and keep only the most special items...the baptism outfit, our favorite book, a favorite toy...I have saved less STUFF as they have gotten older but I have a 'special box' for each child for art, writing assignments, etc that are cute and I just can't throw away!
Yes and I have no idea what I plan on keeping them for but I keep a couple things from each age that I just can't bear to give away that for one reason or another remind me of that age and I can just picture them running around in that outfit.
